The wind last night ripped off my French doors completely shattered all the windows

 

I love the design. Thinking about picking one up for my shop in PA.

Not bad, getting an itch to bring the truck down and run Windrock. And I will say, watching all these wind and snow pics while its 55-60 and sunny here has its perks

Yup. That and a Novak shift cable. PO did a hack & tap. It came apart while my Wife was driving the XJ. Im doing it the right way now.

Not knowing Jeeps, I didn’t know what a hack & tap was until it failed. Otherwise, I would’ve changed it in the beginning.

Someone’s gonna have to.

 

Nice! Thought that looked familiar gave my buddy a hand with his TJ and doing the SYE. Very straight forward, only challenge really was making sure not to have the oil pickup break/pull apart. Shift cable will help a ton, better feel of engagement and can fine tune the slack in it.

 

I’ve watched a couple of videos. Doesn’t look too bad. I think the worst part was getting the correct combination of wrenches, sockets, & extensions to get the T-case out.

I know some people do it in the Jeep, but I don’t want to. I think it’ll be much better on the bench.

I figured now would be the best time to do the cable. Didn’t even tell Karen I’m doing it. Let’s see if she notices the difference.

 

x2 especially having a garage to work in. Always easier pulling the case, more room. Just flat out easier to work on. Should feel a positive difference in shifting the tcase. And no longer worrying about the driveshaft pulling out and leaking fluid everywhere.

 

Yeah, I started to watch a video of a guy doing it in the Jeep. I said F@&k that, and went back to watching the bench one lol
