So where's the new rig?

 

Really clean - someone finally did what everyone says to do and bought a built rig. What are your plans for it?

 

Ive done a few cosmetics to it (retrofit style headlights, led taillights) new sound system. As for performance, TC secondary shock tower to run bypass, double shear upper coil bucket, eventually fabbed spindle (have TC gusseted spindle add on). Thats about it for now. Doesnt need too much more. Once i dont make it my daily, hopefully cage it and whatnot but we will see.

 

You have anything done to your rides? LMK im headed to bed but curious to see about your vehicles. Ill hit ya up tomorrow man. night

 

I started to build my 2nd gen until I realized I wanted 4x4 because I'm more into exploring. I had a +2 kit for it that I sold to someone on here.

I'm building my first gen with a solo front and 62" spring under in the rear with 12" shackles that I got for super cheap until I can pony up for the giant 64 kit. I'll daily the 1st gen after it's done with major mods, sell the 2nd gen and look for a daily with good mpg. It's too bad - I love that regular cab, but I can't afford to have both trucks. Lol

 

My hesitation is his kit is 2wd
I have 4WD
His is a 2nd gen taco, I'm a turd gen

But in reality the rear of my truck is getting a new rear end so it can drive again and that has to happen first, know what I mean?
I told him I was interested but clarified that I had to complete the work in the rear end of the truck before I can even look at upgrading to the +3.5 kit

Gotta eat my dinner before I have desert lol

But all of the advice thus far has been fantastic

 

Just call Solo to see whether they mount the co in the same place for 2 and 4wd and if their kit works on third gens. Chances are both things would work out and I'm pretty sure their website says 05 to current.

 

I'd need new UCA missalinements
New LCA bushings
New axels
And new tie rods

I think everything else is good

But
Fixing the rear is priority

Just needed the pro/con on that kit

 

@Dalandser its a mixture of +3.5 from LT, +.75 from spindles and 20x10 wheels and 12.50 wide tires

 

I'd go full 4 link if you're going to spend the money. It's amazing what those trucks can do - then center mount the front and lose 4x4 lol

 

I like 4x4
It's useful here

And I like the short course 4 link because I can still keep 90% of my bed
Still have a lot of weight in the bed
It's more affordable
And it's still very daily driver friendly/long drive friendly.

Not to mention
If the kibbetech grey truck short course can sail through the air like it does
I'm sure short course is good enough for me

I get your argument and agree with it
I can always go to traditional links later with very little effort
This is just more affordable right now and I'm sure I'll be happy with it

no im buying it i just need to come into a lot of money (gambling, lottery, something)

 

One of you buy it and use the dang thing. I keep trying to plan trips and then find out I'm unable to make it out.

 

lets trade plus 5000$ but i want to keep my rtt

 

The point here is trying to sell my truck so someone uses it, not trade and still have a truck that doesn't get used lol.
