I don't know much about this kind of thing, but is it maybe that Colorado sales are eating into Sierra sales?

Bingo... I looked at them since I like Hondas and they got away from that horrific Avalanche look. But when the truck starts at $40K, I have to question what I’m looking at. To outfit it near the average Tacoma pushes it into $45-50K and the gas mileage is worse! Only vehicle that was even in the running by the time I decided was the Colorado/Canyon and I was pretty set on the diesel. That cost pushes it up from the Tacoma, but the residual value on them (not necessarily the diesel) is poor when compared. Thus, Tacoma... no regurts.

You need yo get your facts straight Broheim. Base Ridgeline is $29,730. It also has best in class gas mileage. The top of the line Black Edition is $43,220. Also the top of the line Ridgeline has way more features that any Tacoma. If your going to talk about the competition get your facts straight before you post. With the internet its really not too hard.

Wow, I’m glad your “facts” are more accurate than my actual experience when looking at buying one at the dealership 3 blocks from my house. Maybe that’s a Gulf South issue, like Toyota... I don’t know. What I do know is my discussions with the dealer, along with “ass in seat” over the last year or so say otherwise.

It really is stunning how bad the Ridgeline sells. I mean, I figured it wasn't going to sell great, but those numbers are niche-vehicle level. Not a level I would expect from Honda, in a white hot vehicle segment - and I certainly didn't expect massive declining numbers, when it already didn't sell well.

Exactly, I just wonder how long they can keep it around, if it did not share so many componnts with Odyssey and Pilot there is no way they would bother with it.

Agreed, that is the only reason I can see it sticking around. I mean, I don't expect a company to drop a vehicle after 1-2 years, but these numbers are so bad (and have gotten worse YTD vs 2017), I have to wonder how much longer they will keep it around, even though it shares a platform with another vehicle.

I also wonder if Honda would bother giving it one last go as a traditional, full on truck.

If they actually built a traditional style mid sized truck with a Frame I bet it would sell pretty well.

It's hard to say. I've pretty much come to the conclusion that trucks don't draw from a single pool of consumers - but rather seem to mostly sell to the brand's fanbase. That's my guess as to why whenever a new mid-size truck comes out, the Tacoma's sales don't go down.

I just don't know that Honda drivers largely want trucks.

I think 1st gen Ridgeline owners might come back to the fold. It wasn't a bad truck for being a unibody.

Make the next Ridgeline a bit more truck like and it might see a following.

May not carry the same name but I don't see honda abandoning the truck market completely, especially if the Ranger adds to the mix.
