    Today...

Ditch lights and wiring. Brackets on yesterday.
Fix bump stop that bottomed out too quick and isn't tight to the plate.
Crawl around and check hardware to be tightened underneath.
    Spray slider frame plates again.
    Wire bed corner lights.
And whatever else I come up with.

    Ta ta for now!

    My House Usually
I actually hit my rear bumper at Levi's house. I backed into a trailer. :anonymous:

AOP last November was when I decided that I was going to get a 2nd truck. AOP was wet. AOP was gnarly. Me with shit tires and stock wisely stayed parked at camp. Wisely. But not without extreme frustration. I wanted to wheel. So. Bad.

I've been hanging out with this group so long. And left my truck(s) sitting at camp so many times that after AOP, I had enough. It was time for something I didn't have to care about.

As to the affording it topic....I will admit, I hit up the parental units for a loan to help. Not much, a cpl K, but everything else I saved for an funded myself. Bonus' at work (Xmas and Job), Scrappin like a mad man (Electrician by trade, so access to plenty of quality copper I then strip out. I've scrapped about $1500 worth of wire since AOP.) The trick has been finding things on deals. I got my COs, for $400. I bought those AP springs for 375. Shipped. The searching and bullshit sellers and stuff I figure would make for decent convo at some point, so I wasn't gonna take away all my talking points now. Save some for LBL.

It needs to warm up today so I can go out and fuck with my truck.

Ripped off all four mudflaps. Scratches all down both sides 6112’s up front on 3rd notch 5100’s in back with Toytech 1” block Skids & sliders from SOS Concepts I got rid of the 1” block and put on Wheelers 1 1/2” progressive AAL. SPC UCA. Be sure your standing on the drivers side when reading the instructions! I swapped sides so many times that I can swap UCA’s in 15 minutes. I put in the 3/4” spacer to eliminate the Taco Lean, and just got my 4th alignment. Traded the OEM rims for 17” Sport rims and a bora bora 1” spacer. I got my Firestone 285/70/17 MT2’s. Pelfreybilt gas tank skid and hi-lift jack should be here Friday. Looking at bumpers, but I think they will wait for next year. So far I’m happy with my build. I’ve done it all myself, leading to a lot of cussing and frustration, but it’s all mine.
    Only Saturday?

I’ve decided to do the same thing. I might go a little farther back to a solid axle truck if I can find one that’s worth building. I kept My Malibu for when I break my Tacoma, but I hate that damn car, so I’m going to look into some sort of trade when the right one comes along.

We have gorgeous weather here in Nashville today, and I don't really have any work to do on the truck:pout: I guess it's time to do more work around the house.

After looking at a few different tent options I'll be going with an E-Z Up camping cube 6.4, so I'll be the guinea pig that lets you all know if it's worth it. Need to decide if I'm getting a second canopy for it though, would hate to not contribute to EZ up city.

I hope you live somewhere that has front solid axle trucks that haven't been cut up and welded all to hell

Still a few around, but, the value/price goes up as they get more scarce. Last solid axle "Tacoma" was pre Tacomas in 1985. (I had an '84, then a first year IFS 1986) Those are 33 years old now. Very few 33 year old 4wds of any brand not in the butchered mode.

After searching for one myself, even newer SASed trucks are more often than not pretty much junk or else VERY overpriced.

For now I’m just hoping someone rear ends me... I’ll probably be more likely to replace it this summer or fall, I’ve bent it out of the way of the tailgate so it’s just part of my scars and stripes theme.

My son wants to bring his minibike. I know from Badlands that he needs more motor, and will get it. Will there be room for him to ride it there? It’s a little Doodlebug.
