    Hey all.

Thinking of purchasing a double cab 2011 Prerunner 4.0 with 110k on the clock. Currently have a 2012 RAV4 which has been dependable as heck.

I'm sure there's been some threads like this, but I'm new here.

    A few questions:

Engine and transmission seems to run great. How reliable/durable are these?

    Whats a good purchase price?

What are some common problems or things to look for in a used Tac?

Is there anything you all don't like about your Tacoma?

Was amped test driving the Tacoma after driving some F150s and Silverados. The Tacoma really felt right.

Looking forward to hearing from you all, just by reading thru threads this seems like a great community.

    Thanks,
    KC

Auto or manual? You can't get any more reliable than the 4.0/ auto transmission combo. I think the manual transmission is the same.

Just check thoroughly for rust on the frame. Other than that 110k isn't very high at all, if the price is right, and you don't need 4WD

$16,000 on their bargain lot? Something real fishy there. Buy it now before we send it to auction? Sounds like they know it's a POS.

    Def appreciate your all's feedback.

Noticed the disclaimer as well, it is a reputable dealer around here but going to think twice due to price + no warranty. Loved the way it drove, will have to keep the search on.

When they have to get their legal team to write the vehicle description, you should probably stay away.

True. Will have to up the budget and get something with a better service history & warranty.

Have the fever after driving one, ride seems to suit me. Tough to find a good deal on one with the high resale.

Patience is key to finding a good tacoma at the right price. It's worth the wait.

    16k for that? Hard pass!

I got my 2010 TRD OR 4WD loaded with every option for less. It is a MT 6speed and it had more miles but mileage is nothing o these trucks and dealers know it.

Their is better out there, don't settle, and if you're okay with a 2wd non TRD either sport or Off-Road you have so SO many more options and opportunities.

The right one will come along soon enough.

As for reliability, the 4.0 and both flavors of transmission are bullet proof.
