as much as I love the gasshole... I think it would make a perfectly horrible coaster... something about a hole in the center of a coaster... lol

 

No I do not want a refund . I made mine work . I guess since you sent 200 out and only had 2 that did not fit ? Since you did an investigation on the 2 and I was not one of them , (I removed mine and scraped it and it did not allow enough to make it fit )oh well i digress . You know what is right . Again it is a great product . I just thought i would save you from some problems of stripped screws,threaded holes etc. by fixing a problem before it ships .

 

I appreciate it. I have sold close to 300. And I can count 4 people that have said something about it not sliding into the channel completely.(that have came forward at least). Obvisouly I would want 100% fitment rate.. but the world is not perfect. Although I'm trying
As for the "stripped screws" that had nothing to do with the Gasshole. That's from either an overtorqued catch bolt from the factory or using the wrong size Phillips driver to remove it.

My last comment on the subject. Because the hole was off on mine , trying to screw mine in was a problem . Since the hole did not line up with the screw it would not screw in . If screwing it in were to be forced , it would have either stripped the threads on the screw or damage the threads in the hole , or as in a pic on this thread put a bow (bend)on the gasshole itself making it look as if it did not seat correctly . I looked at the alignment and saw the hole did not line up and chose to elongate the hole. . Without instructions to check for excess powder buildup , the average customer would just screw it until either it works or it is damaged . I am a retired tool and die maker (that did not have my glasses on ). I have been involved in many new product developments . All I was tring to suggest was elongating the hole would solve all the problems that have come up so far.
Again I love the product ! I may take an exacto knife and add a thread ( just needs a slot )in mine to allow screwing in the slant locking cap if mine has a problem of falling out if I hit it with the gas pump.

 

Some people still have that common sense shit right? If something is off a bit look at what might be causing it. Maybe even ask before doing anything irreversible? Thanks for the great product @mesojdm and the great customer support you provide to every customer.

Perhaps you should add instructions with the kit though. I tried fitting it in and kept hitting it with a hammer but the hole was too small and would t go over the screw. Was I supposed to remove the screw?

 

Not all the younger generations even know that there are different types of screw heads . old school and common sense do not always coincide. !

 

I welcome all feedback. It's how I make my product better I try and make it as plug and play as possible, but in the end there are always variance hiccups.

TLDR:
Fitment issue. Concluded excess powder in Gasshole crack. Cleaned Gasshole, fits fine.

In other news, 2nd Gen prototype will be out tomorrow. So the gas door is way different.. there is ZERO clearance behind the hole. So it will have to protrude out enough to gain room for the cap end.



side note.. I noticed there is a "S" stamped on all the 2nd gen doors

 

What's weird is mine came out with ease.
I would pit #3 Phillips bit on an impact, apply generous pressure and hope for the best.
