Well I just hit deer # 5 this morn @ 0510 hrs. It 'may' be totaled due to the mileage and age of truck (I'm praying it's not). I have yet to install the new dash cam, I'm not sure that's good or bad.

The street guardian sale is still going you can PM me if interested in those but the blackboxmycar one is currently not. We intend on doing one again but we'll probably wait a while. Learned a lot doing this first one so second time should go much smoother.

Hard wired Thinkware 800 Pro for Tacoma, hardwired Viofo A119s for Prius. Not too bad--just pull weather strip off and route behind pillar air bags. Tired to pair my phone to Thinkware 43--asking for a password??? Using Thinkware Cloud platform--any help on pairing??

Which fuses did you tap into for constant and ignition switched source?

If I remember correctly, you need to put in your hotspot password.

    Settings
    Personal hotspot
Turn it on and write down password
Start again and then type in password.

Also, in the thinkware app, look for an update first to make sure you have the latest update. I spent 2 hours trying to get them paired and had to walk away for a bit. Then I did the update and it paired right away.

Hope this helps. It's been a few weeks since my installation so I hope my memory is correct.

Heads up, use the Thinkware Cloud (F800 / F800Pro) app, not the other one for the 800/800 Pro.

Man, fuck Thinkware's mobile application. That UI & UX is so convoluted for initial setup/connection. The Android app hard crashed so many times when trying to figure out the Wifi connection. Wasted 2 hours on setting this up.

As for hard wiring, I highly recommend using a multi-meter to determine what fuses are hot 24/7 vs hot ignition. I made sure to tap the respective powered fuses with equal or higher original fuses for the add-a-tap. I didn't go low original to high added. That's just me being paranoid most likely.

I tapped via 2 add-a-taps the Door F/L for 24/7 hot (20amp original) fuse, and Power Outlet 2 (15amp original) fuse. My add-a-taps came with 15amp fuses. I just kept it as-is instead of using a lower amp fuse.

Good to know. I've gotten all my wires ran and everything, just basically have to get the correct add a tap fuse holders and plug em in.

So if I understand, you put in a higher rated fuse than factory? If so, I’ll tell you that is incorrect. The design of a fuse is to be the weak link. To blow on spike, short, or over amp. You cause fires my making your wires, or plug connections from factory the weak link.

I’m guessing you have no to little electrical experience. And don’t have a volt meter. I answered your question earlier.

If you guys don’t want to take my word for it than so be it. I don’t give advice on things I know nothing about. And someone that doesn’t know electrical would not own this equipment. 6723D88D-4919-4B02-B544-6E22A34E415B.jpg

I thought I ordered min low profile add a taps but they were just mini. I don't have the parts to finish right now. I ordered em off Amazon and didn't read The description well. I am pretty inexperienced with electrical.

Just the opposite; I went lower or equal to the factory fuse amperage on the taps.

Factory constant power fuse I tapped is at 20amps. My add-a-tap fuse for that is at 15amps.

Factory accessory power fuse I tapped is at 15amps. My add-a-tap fuse for that is at the same amperage, 15amps.

I could also lower my 15amp fuses used to match the amperage of the inline fuse for each wire.

I agree with meter to find 12 volt . I splice wire instead of fuse tap.
More info on connecting please-so far its....
    1) Cloud app
    2) Do firmware update 1st (how do you do this?)
    3) connect thru hotspot to identify password

Sounds good. But know on the tapped side, the side for the camera setup should not be the same fuse as the factory that you tapped into. I might have completely misunderstood the whole wording. But put a factory size or lower til you can get more fuses on the factory side. On the camera side use 3a with a 5a max. That protects your camera and wires. If you have any questions or if it doesn’t make sense what I wrote them PM me please. I’d hate to see any truck burnt from electrical but I have seen some nice rigs bare metal and black.
