Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Follow this thread here and there and just ordered a kit! Not complaining just curious whats the current wait time? Order # 2540.

 

For your peace of mind, take whatever response you finally get and multiply it by 4. Just relax and go order some other mods for your truck to work on in the meantime.

 

Expect at least 2 weeks minimum from order date to getting the activation key. If you check out the OVTune review thread (its a sticky) everyone that has posed a review has listed when they ordered, when they got the kit, when the flashed. That should give you a really good baseline for a waiting period.

Note: Its worth the wait.

NP. This tune is unreal. It's amazing how messed up the stock tune is from Toyota. They seriously dropped the ball with this. I look at every 3rd gen I pass I cringe now thinking of the horrible nightmare that was the stock tune, but I also think to my self, what a wonderful truck I have now.

 

Cant wait to try it! Sure beats this poor excuse for a “stock” tune!

 

This may be a dumb question but does the TCU have anything to do with the exhaust? I would not think it does

 

Don't want to bug Mat with this so anyone have this issue before trying to flash . I have a CEL check charging system is on only when i have push button to run (no engine on) But when truck is running no CEL or any warnings. If that CEL is on when i go to run the tune will it allow the tune to load??? I did a Northstar group31 battery mod few months back have had no issue's with it!

Everyone gets the 'Check charging system', ignore it. It's simply telling you you're using more juice than the alternator is putting in (because it isn't).

 

That happens stock.

 

No choice but to flash from 91 to 87. Pumped the wrong octane. Guess its time to test the difference....

 

Let us know. I've been stuck on 91 as the power is awesome. I don't think I want to downgrade..yet

 

Yeah, I'm loving 91. I was smashing on the way to gas up and to my surprise, my wife asked me to stop because she couldnt hold the "push back..." LoL. She usually make fun of my truck because it was slower than her pilot. My response to her when she asked me to stop was "my truck is now faster than yours"!

That 17.8 “average” number you see is actually just the current value, as in the yellow bar given as a numeric value. Toyota was pretty silly to call it average.

 

Interested on this, please do tell how big is the difference.
