They have a vocational school here in Greenwood, too. My co-worker's son is taking auto mechanics there.

My dad used to teach auto mechanics at Parker High School in Greenville when it still existed. Pretty much none of his knowledge was passed on to me, unfortunately. :anonymous: My own fault, though.

Just went through that. New hardwoods, new carpet, new drywall, new paint and trimwork.....new furnace and AC. Final coat of paint goes on this Saturday, should be done finally.

Yep....bill came to 75k. Shopping hardwoods with the wife was probably the most difficult part.

Went through the flooring shopping with my wife a few years ago when we had some water damage. Drain connection from tub in master to drain came undone and a tubs worth (plus some) of water drained onto the foundation.

The kitchen and hardwoods for my aunt and uncle that I designed was that much may of ended up more, aunt got carried away when it came time to pic lighting, appliances, etc. That is without tear down labor my uncle paid me and me and him tackled that. We refinished the hardwoods throughout the house and then put hardwoods in abt. 100 sqft.

Ouch....that sucks. I've always heard of these horror stories and wondered when my card would turn up. Certainly has made 2018 interesting already.

It was the opposite for me. I got tired of renting an expensive house on the lake so I bought a house and started putting some money to the side for eventual repairs.

Not really they actually spent really wisely and usually that kitchen would of been well into 6 digits. Found them some killer deals on the cabinets and the lighting and stuff. Bonus was I walked away with all their old cabinets which were custom oak ones. I modified them and refinished them for my kitchen

I kept my marital home through my crazy ass divorce. I got 100% equity in the house so the ex bitch wife didn't get shit when I sold it.
I'm sure she loves the new set up on my Tacoma.:burnrubber:It was a 18 year old house that I had already replaced the roof, the hot water heater,
two over the stove microwaves, the HVAC and ductwork too. The housing market here is crazy hot. And I got higher than I was asking by
the 1st person who looked at my house. I will buy again in a few years. Maybe a small piece of property in the country so I can have some land
for a Pit Bike track and room for a bunch of dogs.
