Only reason my wife and I choose Erie (specifically the east side of county line road) was not to be in the republic of Boulder, I lived in Superior in my early twenties, and loved it, but my god they sure like to tax the shit out of you and any sort of building is a competed and utter cluster fuck.

Really? I'll have to keep that in mind and try not to get too close to Boulder then hah

Yeah I believe that. We lived in superior when we first moved here. Moved to Erie, now moving back. We’re renting so we don’t pay property tax or the like. I work in boulder so superior is extremely convenient. A 9 Minute Drive to work vice 30+ depending on traffic

It all depends. We were looking at building a house here in Erie, the price of the house was reasonable, cheaper than s lot of other options in the Denver area, and a nice sized house. But the property tax was outrageous.

I totally dug living in Superior, granted it was 16 years ago, and I know it has grown since. A 9 minute drive to work would be awesome...
Mine will be around $1,500 ish

For reference, if I our house was 500 feet to the west, it would go up almost $500

The new development in Erie, like I said has very reasonably priced houses. But the property tax at the specific house I was looking at building (which was one of the cheapest ones in the development) was around $404 per month. Which is why I bailed. That just sky rockets the monthly payment

And that would be in Boulder county correct?

I thought 90% of the Denver population wasn't even legal..

Correct, the town of Erie lies in both Boulder and Weld county, I am in the latter (and cheaper)

    Add Texas to that mix...

Speaking of, subbed to this because we will be moving up that way after Wife is done with grad school end 2019. We would have already moved back in 2016 but the kiddo coming along stalled that and then grad school started so it stalled it even further.

We will be looking for that small town living style. So ill be watching this thread :D
