If it were me, I'd leave it alone. When metal bends, it stretches that area, compromising the bond between the paint and the metal. If you try to bend it back, you have to try to shrink that metal back to its original shape ,and that stretched paint is not going to be happy about it. Bottom line, it will be almost impossible to just bend it back and have it look any better than it does right now, with out a repaint. And the person bending the metal back better be very good at it, because it is very hard to get metal to shrink back to its former shape. If you leave it alone, keep an eye on that area for oxidation,( that is the way aluminum rusts) in the form of a rough surface giving off a white powder. If you start to see oxidation, then its time to reevaluate your options.

    Workin' on it....
If it bugs you, take the skid off, sandwich the dent with some wood on either side and put it in a vise and crank it down.

    That’s a splash pan, not a skid.

It's the same thing as her picture. It's marketed by Toyota as a skid plate is it not?

    My bad. That one is.
The black pan underneath that (closer to the block) is what most refer to with a similar sentiment to your post.

I love you and I’m sorry.

The skid plate is miserably weak. Its easy to bend back in place. You may need to use a hammer but itll go back.

And this is why you get dashcams installed. Hold these jerks accountable and turn them in for hit-n-run accidents.

It probably would have made no difference. Because you probablly couldn’t prove the car hit him. That was pretty much just a tap. A shopping cart could have done that damage at a different time and he didn’t notice (the skid plate is really that flimsy)

Plus I would not be shocked if the car that hit him honestly didnt realize they did it.

If the dashcam recorded it, then the bump was enough to trigger the parking mode of the dashcam, which is enough proof. True, a shopping cart could have triggered it too, but on the recording, you'd see a shopping cart vs a car backing into you.
