She's a trooper and has gone on a couple of week long wheeling vacations...figured that was my sign that I needed to put a ring on it.

Still...there's a reason I bought the tow rig, trailer and new wheels and tires before we were married...some things she just doesn't need to know how much it cost.

 

Just because you'll be married, doesn't mean she needs to know how much things cost afterward.

 

Exactly! It's not like she's gonna tell you how much her brand new Michael Kors bag cost.

My wife and I have three bank accounts. Mine,hers,and a joint. As long as we can pay the bills we have a mutual agreement on not telling what the other can and cannot buy.

 

I don't see the need in a combined account unless it's a "bills only" or "vacation" fund. Anything other than that, clearly you provided well enough on your own BEFORE marriage. You can buy your own truck parts and she can buy her own Vicky's.

Pretty much what me and my wife do, too. Works surprisingly well. We never bicker about money anymore.

I had my accounts. My ex wife had her account that was always empty so she figured out how to tap into my different accounts. $61k in cash taken from me, a new car for her side piece, a crippling amount taken from my investments and inheritance, and a $83k divorce bill and a large lump sum alimony bill later, I'm a free man.
