    Wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting. We saw little traffic on the way in, mostly Toyotas and Jeeps (and a couple mental defectives). Was a little heavier on the way out. Still a good day.

    Total noob question, but why not cables or chains?
    In the Nordic countries, the military uses them despite being fully locked 4x and 6x.
    Seems like it would beat maxtrax and winching every X feet.:confused:

    Chains would help if they had something to bite on. We were going through some pretty soft stuff. Don't think chains would have made a difference. And some people got stuck because their vehicle wasn't equipped to deal with the conditions. Chains definitely wouldn't have helped.
