Headlight Revolution did not review many of the newest LED bulbs that came out in the past 12 months or so. For whatever reason (but great for us), a few companies really upped their game and release some pretty good improvements in 2017.

And of course, we all want the best bang for their buck, so that is always a deciding factor for many (me included). These mods can really add up!

Please elaborate, from the top meaning from inside the engine bay, or from the "front" by removing the bezel? Sorry this is going to be my first time doing this on a 3rd gen Tacoma. I know how to pop the bezel off as I de-chromed with a Sport bezel, but don't recall if I can unscrew and pull the lights out towards me or not, is accessed solely from the rear of the fogs? If so I just want clarification on approach to access.

    @Parker315 Your experience?

Reach down behind the grille and you can feel the single phillips screw that mounts the fog light. Remove the screw, remove the front bezel. The screw is outer and on top. Then you can see where the inner tabs slide into slots. Very simple. Will take longer to remove bezels than to swap fogs.

I see. I didn’t realize that video was so dated. Back to more researching. Current leds not cutting it for me for my low beams. Gonna move them to highs.

Anyone know what is best for front turn signal led bulbs and resistors. Looking to match my HD bright yellow fogs. Stock amber bulbs look weak in comparison.

Sub'd to this! I noticed they only come on when blinking but the reflector reflects amber during the day, yuck! But yes on the resistor as I am against ricey hyperblinking!

Or even better, a bulb that isn't amber tinted, rather clear, but the LED flashes amber...I want to get rid of the amber reflection on the reflector during the day, but still retain amber for visibility because these Hikari LB's are bright, I worry they may wash out visibility of the blinker if it's the same color...

I'm sorry, my arms are just too damn bulky to do it how everyone else is doing it but I will try.

If that doesn't work then this is what I am doing to get at the fogs to remove then reinstall them, and then ultimately to aim them.

If all I was doing was replacing a bulb I would not be doing this. LOL But with my luck, I would drop that screw and have to take the entire front end apart trying to find it.
That is just how clumsy I am and how my luck goes. Plus, I can have this grill off in 5 minutes.

I second that! I did the same thing when installing Baja designs squadron sports fogs. I found this method to be the easiest. Remove the grill and plastic splash guard is very easy.

Some remove grille. Some remove front screw in fender liner. Some remove nothing except bezel. Same results. Easy job. Had mine in and out a couple of times until I had fogs angled down to my liking. Guess I was lucky working from top.

These aren't the best, but they've been working well for me (and they're cheap too):
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074YVZD4X/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's about as bright as the stock bulb (maybe just a hair brighter), but it seems much nicer due to the richer amber color and the crisp on/off that incandesant bulbs are unable to do.

You will need to add resistors to prevent hyperblinking.

Removing plastic bezel properly is to squeeze the 6 plastic tabs from the inside and only removing the grill and splash guard would you be able to reach it unless you are inspector gadget. Those tabs on the bezel are fragile and break or deform pretty easily if you try prying it from the front. Just my experience.

I run these also. I'd say they are much brighter than stock though and I did not need a resister.

We were looking at a Yellow LED that @mesojdm recommended but those suckers are not cheap and not easy to find. I will dig around and see if I can find it.

Looking at the video someone attached on Amazon they look great. Worth trying for the price. What rating resistors are people running.

If mesojdm would just sell me his custom amber drl I could stop this obsessive search for the perfect led H11’s and return to the factory halogen H11’s that seem to perform the best. Not a fan of led drl and halogen low beam look. Damn you Toyota!

Do let us know what they say to your email about this issue. I just installed the new ones in my high beams and noticed they were off. I'm yet to test them at night, but I'm curious to hear what they say to your email. Their customer service is pretty good....I've already had to order a replacement bulb from them because of faulty wiring and it was very quick and easy, they just sent me a code to order a single one on Amazon.

When moving the wiper fluid reservoir tank are you guys removing the whole tank or just undoing the couple hex screws and tilting it back for the passenger side bulb change out which I haven’t gotten to yet. I don’t want to spill the washer fluid.

You don't need to undo anything if you're just swapping bulbs out...... unless you can't fit your hand back there. I have pretty large hands and I am able to get my hand in there to remove/insert the bulbs.

You know...it could be that I needed the resistors because I had just put in the Turn-as-tail mod for my tail lights. Doing that mod changed the electrical properties of the entire circuit a bit and it slightly effects the front signals because the front and rear signals (on the same side of the truck) share the same circuit.

When I installed these, those of us doing the Turn-as-tail mod had not figured out what resistor values worked best for everyone (at that point). So I ran over to my local Autozone and installed 6 ohm resistors up front since it was the only thing they had. Thankfully, it worked out.
