We ended up with 12+ inches of snow. Plowed once yesterday around noon and then again this morning at 6AM. Lost power about 1 PM yesterday - still not back on. Original estimate was 3:30 this afternoon, then 4:30 and now is "we don't know." The good news is that I had the generator serviced on Wednesday - turns out there was a broken wire and it had not been starting to charge the battery. It started when the power went out and has been humming since. We brought Lynn's mom up with us.

    Evening all:
    also! Glad he's OK

That's good Mark, I think there are still people without power just South of me, lots of trees down and even some cell tower damage.
My buddy Jim had the tree that he had a ladder stand attached to come down and crush his stand, glad he wasn't in it, that would have been bad!

Holy moly! That had to be quite a moment. It looks like the rollover protection got triggered? That might have helped them.

We never lost power here but I took a drive today and, wow. Roads closed, power lines down, generators humming away, all around the area. This was a doozy.

Glad your BIL is okay. Like Dave said it looks like the roll over protection kicked in.

Glad you made out okay Dave. Saw pictures from my area and looks like plenty of trees down and power outages. We're not home, bit my neighbor said we didn't lose power and sent me a,picture of my wind damage. lost a piece of facia. Glad that's all.

I did not even realize that was a safety mechanism, (rollover protection), available.

Glad that's all the damage you ended up with. When you heading home? Or you decide to stay there permanently?

I'm good. Saw the little ones a week ago for Isaiah's first birthday. :notsure: on seeing the older ones :pout:  :annoyed: :anonymous:

Still away for another 2 1/2 weeks. starting to get a wee bit home sick and missing the G-kids. Permanent not in the future for us. Only in the winter when it's cold.
Glad you got to spend time with the little ones for Isaiahs Bday. Gotta enjoy them while you can. Take care and be safe out there with some of the drivers out there. Just glad you were okay.

The car has a retractable roof. The rollover thingie is supposed to be there for when the top is down.

I just went out and fired up the generator. The electric company is claiming the power will be back on within 2 hours but there are still folks around here who are without power from the *last* storm. So I guess we'll see. The folks up the hill are going to wait it out for a little while so they'll be our 'alert system' in case it comes back on.
