A few guys who had longer LED bulbs (because of the bigger fans or heat sinks on them) only removed the screws so that they could move the reservior just enough to get the bulb in. They didn't have to drain or remove anything other than the screws.

Makes it easier and safer if take out the 2 10mm screws. With a K&N cai still not much movement but it helped. The underside of the top sheet metal is pretty sharp too so use caution. My dumbazz had just turned off my halogens when I removed them and, damn, them bulbs is hot.

Sorry. I assume most of us have battle scars from working on cars. Not as bad as it looks. That was a week ago when I jerked my hand out from that hot low beam halogen. DUH. You should see pix of when I used to work on my LT1 Z28 engines. Horrible cuts from simple spark plug jobs. Had to have contortionist hands to service those engines. Had to drop exhaust to remove one passenger spark plug. Miss the cars not the pain.

I have 2 small scars on the back of my thumb in about the same spot as your wound...both are from working on vehicles over the past few years! LOL None are from working on the Taco (yet). :fingerscrossed:

Part of my problem was that they were not deep cuts and they stopped bleeding almost right away. So I just kept on working like an idiot without covering them up. By the time I finished, I had plenty of chemicals/oils in the wound which casued them to never quite heal without scarring. :homer: :smack:

Been working on cars over 45 years. Both hands and arms are covered with hundreds of scars. The way I figure it each scar saved me $100 of labor. And I only worked as a car mechanic for a couple of years. Just never paid anyone to repair mine or my family owned cars. I think I paid for 2 repairs in my life. One was a 72 Plymouth Satellite transmission overhaul in the 70's and the other was a fwd Nissan van that hydro-locked and broke one of the camshafts and a few head bolts when it blew a head gasket and tried to compress and combust water. Was working massive overtime then so that was a no brainer. In all fairness 30+ years as a machinist added a few scars too. We won't discuss my scars from 7 surgeries.

Ok just for ignorance sake, when highs come on, fogs turn off??? I can’t seem to get them all on at the same time is that how the OEM lights worked??? I never paid attention...

I have Hikari Phillips in both hi/lo and auxbeam F16 in fogs

Yes, when you turn the highs on, the fogs go off. That's how it is on all vehicles I believe..some law.

    Yes that's correct.

From what others have said, some states do not allow more than 4 front lights to be on at the same time (excludes DRLs tho). Anyways, because our LBs are still on when you turn on the HBs, I'm guess that Toyota designed it so that the fog lights cut out so that they didn't have to modify each truck for each state. Seems kinda silly to me since they do weird things specifically for those of us in HI...but whatever.

There is a way to have the fogs on with the HBs, but you need to add a relay between them to get it to work. I think I posted the link for that mod 1-2 weeks ago in this thread...

Moved the truck tonight so figured I would snap a couple of low and high Hikari pix. Still seeing white spots. From 40 feet. Camera lens is a little dirty.

Not a straight on shot but you get the picture. Lows. Lows and fogs. Highs.

Bright and clean white. Got to use care with those fogs in town. And God help anyone that flashes me when I flash my brights back at them. Potential road rage incident. I know my neighbors wonder what the hell I did to my lights. Only thing missing is a train horn.

DO IT. You can always throw something cheaper in your highs. These things look really nice and will compliment your drl and morimoto lights. I wanted to tell you, even though the BD are expensive, I like that I can swap the lens to clear later if I want a different look. They are crazy bright in amber so I am afraid just how bright clear would be. I also came close to buying either morimoto or the lexus led fogs. They are all better than stock. I really like that tinted look. Did you ever figure out what bulbs work in different brand black headlights. I know you said one brand had completely different bulbs than H11. That would be a deal breaker after investing in H11 led bulbs.

I can verify that steps 2-5 work! They also work for the driver side bulb, except the angle is more like 15 degrees, as in the picture @mrproduxn posted. Got my Hikari lows and highs today, popped the low beams in quickly, then took about an hour to measure, eyeball, measure, and finally drill the holes in the highbeam collars using a small bit in a Dremel. Pattern from all 4 looks just about perfect to my non-calibrated eyeballs.

    Thanks again!

So when you did the driver side the new and old holes did not overlap. If not I will fix that one soon.

Nope, no overlap. One new hole did end up directly under a tang, but if you countersink it properly, the screw doesn't get in the way.
