i've had my '18 for about a month now and put a little over 1600 miles on it and bought it brand new, i have turned all the safety stuff off since day one, i use cruise control daily but thats about it, my truck doesn't chime, ding, beep, brake or slow down unless i have cruise control on or press the brakes in any situation i've put it in, parking lots, school crossings, debris in the road, off-road, driveways with other cars, backing up, doing donuts in the mud, and pulling a trailer, i drive about 80 any time i'm on the interstate and still get 20mpg's... if anyone gets the 18 just turn all the crap off and enjoy your truck... i still smile everytime i walk up to it

The other day, down the street from my house at about 30 MPH, my truck started beeping and it displayed BRAKE! on the dash. There was nothing in front of me, I was pretty much the only vehicle or person on the road. It scared me and I spent more time looking around to see what that noise was. The truck never braked so I guess whatever it "saw" was cleared. Maybe a ghost?

About 4k miles on my 18' with MT. One time on the freeway it told me to brake, never applied brakes though and I was not in cruise control. I had cars merging in front of me and it seems like it either anticipated the cars in front of me merging at a slower speed or who knows maybe just got confused due to dirty sensor cover. In cruise control, the TSS is awesome! I love it and no issues so far. This past week, I thanked my 3rd gen. Driving on the cajon pass at speed when the cops stopped the freeway in other direction. They had one car pulled over making some type of scene, which naturally made everyone driving in my direction to look over and slow down to be lookielooloos. Well I was curious just as much as everyone (we are all guilty of it i'm sure as curiosity gets the best of us sometimes), my eyes looked over at the scene the cops had going on and although I didn't turn away for more then a second, the car in front of me braked hard to get his/her glimpse of the action. I looked forward and saw the vehicle in front slamming it's brakes, before I even hit my brakes the truck was already braking. Once it felt me engage the brakes hard enough to know it could stop fully before a collision it stopped and gave me full control. Scary experience, wife looked at me and said "the truck hit the brakes before you did huh?". I couldn't put in words how grateful I was for the TSS at that moment, as that extra fraction of second of braking made all the difference. All my fault, i'll admit, shouldn't have focused on the show across the highway, but comforting knowing the truck was paying attention nonetheless. Again TSS is not a guaranteed fail safe, it's the drivers responsibility for all situations, but system can indeed save your butt sometimes. When offroading, I will turn it off, super simple to do. But for everyday driving, it says on for me.

I love the eye sight on my subie.... set it for XX going through Atlanta last year... never had to touch the brakes or the gas and I kept up with traffic. Is awesome. Yes, it does piss me off when the car in front is slowing/turning and it jams on the brakes, but it doesn't happen that often, and I just "talk" to the car and go on about my day. Cruise is great so I don't have to keep kicking it off when some idiot pulls in front of me.

I lifted my 18 with an icon stage 5 and it all works nominally, over 4000 miles

From my experience the TSS pre collision only beeps and doesn't brake

I've owned my 18 for a month now around 1300miles..

The dash light keeps coming on (intermittently) indicating the PCS is OFF and to "clean sensor" .... My logo/sensor is pretty clean, with no blockages and its not turned off.

has anyone else have this problem before? and have any solutions, before I give the dealer a call?

I have been playing with all the tss stuff on my 18 OR. So far so good. It’s never hit the brakes for me yet but I did see the brakes light come on when u was coming up on a car kinda fast so it’s watching I know that. I think the BSM and the backing assistant should be part of the tss too. I guess it’s another way of getting more money out of u. I love the BSM and the backing assistant all the time. Never had a false alarm yet. The lane departure thing works good too but I think I will only use it when I am sleepy on a long road trip not day to day use. Super easy to turn it on and off.

I just purchased my 18 Trd Sport two weeks ago. I immediately bought an aftermarket trd pro style grille (not OEM) because I hate the stock grille.
This eBay grille does not have the mount points for the sensor so the two options were to remove the sensor and deal with the messages flashing on the dash telling me to visit the dealer or get creative and mount the sensor to the back of the grille.
I decided on the later, and the sensor is unable to "see" beyond the grille. I will get a light on the dash telling me the pre collision system is off (which is the same light I get when disabling it manually).
After reading these posts I think I'm going to leave it as is.

OK so let me get this straight... when you disconnect the radar sensor, it just displays the PCS off light? Can you clear the warning from the cluster display?

18 Cement 6mt arriving next week

Honestly I don't really mind the nanny tech right now, just down the road when the systems start failing I want to know I can unplug the sensor instead of flying off the road cause it locked up the brakes on ice.

Wyoming is not kind to sensitive electronics.

I think if pull the plug in the tss u will always have the light on in the dash unless u take the dash part and pull out the led.
