Is this spot stock friendly?? The wife enjoyed the little bit of Tahuya we drove around so I might be able to convince her to take the 2.5hr trip.

This is true and it is something I plan to do once my daughter gets a little older. At 6 months old the long car trips can be even longer because she can't entertain herself or has to eat.

It does get easier-ish. Wait till she's dropping food all over your backseat. Raisins are the devils turds.

Mine is eight and in the past month she has spilled a strawberry lemonade and a peppermint hot chocolate all over the back seat. Both time it was and accident and she felt bad, but it's been a good exercise in patience for me.:annoyed:

Juforrest is right, it gets easier. One of the things we use to do is try to build in time to stop at playgrounds so the kid could get out and run. Just 15 minutes or so, but it helped. The funny thing is you start to realize that some of these towns have really nice playgrounds.

Good points all around, I might try to make an effort to come up sans wife and kid just to check it out with you all. I haven't gotten crazy in the truck yet because I mostly go out alone or with friends in the truck but no other trucks with us to help in a sticky situation just my recovery gear.

I dont know if you had a location in mind @TexMeg89 I found this giant map I have from the ranger 10 years ago. Its 4x4ft but let me know if you want to have a look. There is a camp ground up Praire mountain lakes as well.

I honestly have no knowledge of the route ... @GSPRunner is the one who knows where we're going.

Sorry, been busy the last couple days(drinking). I'll try to find a map of location tonight and post it up. Then we can decide on a meeting place for the drive out there.

Here is the starting point that he is talking about. There is a bridge across the river just North and to the East of this point where you come in off Hwy 530. The couple times I have been up there we aired down at the point I dropped the pin and head South on the power line road and then head through the trees to the sand/rock area where the river does an S curve. Not a huge area but it has some fun points. The creek crossing might be a bit fun if the water is up.

Yes, this is it. There is a small creek crossing as Jeff mentioned, and the off-shoot from the power line road to the river was a little muddy, but I think all stock rigs should handle both with ease. I think there are other ways down to the river as well in case the route we took has gotten more dug out in the last couple years. Here are a few old pics I found, the creek crossing, the trail to the river, and the sand bar. Hopefully the weather will be nice, and we'll have to make sure the river isn't at flood stage or anything once the time comes around as well. Now, where should we meet?

There appears to be a Denny’s right off the exit of I5 for Highway 530 to Darrington, probably more room for parking there. Should we do that instead?
