Or you can go one step further. Remove the latch and cleaning it good. I tried lubing mine, even sprayed PB Blaster in it trying to clean it, but never could get it really loosened up until I broke down and removed it. It wasn't that hard, and I was amazed at how much dirt and sticky crap I got out of it.

I just used WD40 tonight because it was all I had, but I'll pick up something better tomorrow. But even just a good dousing of that on each latch made a world of difference in how smoothly the handles opened the door compared to before.

I put a new passenger handle on a few weeks ago (Dorman brand), and I literally put a brand new OEM driver's side handle on last week and that one broke on me yesterday after less than 5 days of being on the truck. The Dorman is still good but I don't think that latch was as bad as my driver's side.

Power lock actuators? I believe you're supposed to use sprayable white lithium grease. WD40 gunks up after a while.

I second this wd40 runs and it attracs dirt and dust. White lithium grease doesn't attract dirt as much and definatly doesn't run. It' what I've been using for my doors on my truck and works trucks and everyone says there doors open so smoothly now

Where do you lubricate the components exactly?

Good to know, I'll pick up some white lithium grease tomorrow. I just used the straw and gave the latch a good douse. Having replaced 3 handles now though, I'm a pro at taking apart the doors so I'll do that this weekend again to clean/oil them properly.

So like the latch in the door itself that's on the side of the door skin - just spray directly into the actuator mechanism?

I wonder if you can lubricate the power mirror motors.

They make it in aersol cans so you can spray it on less then 10 bucks. Every other desert trip I pull the door panels of and spray everything metal on metal

Correct as well as everything inside of the door connected to the latches. There are plastic clips holding the rods on but still lots of metal on metal components.

I haven't thought of the mirrors thankfully mine were set and they haven't moved in 5 years

The 1st gen LCA might be the only part well equipped from the factory to do its job even after adding racecar parts all around it and dragging it over rocks and it still refuses to give up. All the parts around it break but it does just fine in its stock form.
