I would absolutely NEVER buy the first year of a newly redesigned FCA vehicle (new transmission, new axles, new electronics, all are new on the JL)

And that's coming from someone who owns and loves a Jeep Wrangler.

So true. All the shiny, never see the dirt, fancy rims and tires, built up Jeeps around here are driven by women.

Correct, seems like more often than not.

I think it most be a narcissistic thing for them, to drive a round in a modified Jeep that they will never take off-road, a look at me type of deal, sorta like Instagram.

MK7 R's have better resale, so I'm hoping to get a decent trade-in value...

Btw, how are you liking the MT on your Tacoma? I've driven MT all my life but am on the fringe of getting a AT with this truck

Yeah, I wasn't part of that population who couldn't wait or couldn't put in more work to find a dealer who was selling at sticker price. I had to drive from Chicago to Lexington, KY to get a MK7 R that wasn't marked up.

    3,800 miles on my 2016 OR 6MT

Traded that in my 2017 PRO 6MT. I have 62,000 miles . Love the MT

I rather need a LB, but don’t want a gimpomatic autotragic. So I went with SB but a true mans 3 pedal

    Love it

NICE... I'll test drive both MT and AT but most likely I'll end up with the stick and three pedals... not to mention, it's cheaper too.

I like the Toyotas for the reliability...
There are a lot of aftermarket parts for both.
The Toyotas you can go to 33s, 35s take major work.

I like the Tacoma for a prerunner / overlanding, carrying more gear, really good ground clearance and longer wheel base for driving fast. Small cab is good and bad.

The 4Runner I like for overlanding, comfort, interior space and more gear inside. Bad lower gas tank, wider, heavier have to put gear on roof.

The Jeep I like for a rock crawler / beach, very easy to mod, 35s - 37s with a lift, tons of parts, Rubican, dual lockers ect, more factory options. Bad reliability, least amount of storage. short wheel base could be good or bad.

The whole notion of Jeeps being unreliable... I’ve had 12 Jeeps, and besides the 2 3.8s with 100+k (burning a little oil) they were all bulletproof. The 3.6 in the 2012+ was a very nice upgrade, and the two I had (14 and 16) were both awesome.

I will never own just a Jeep... have to have a decently comfortable daily. I won’t take my Tacoma on the trails, too bro and too pretty for that lol.

That is awesome man. Some nice country there too. Litterly exactly the same thing I wanted to do but I was going to get a car trailer. I never thought of a tow bar. Thx for the idea. What tow bar is that? Did u need any additional kit for the Taco to tow?
