He’s a tow truck driver. Or, that’s what I think I’ve read several times in the past few weeks.

I'm thinking of buying the Mr.Heater buddy. Anyone have issues with it? I've seen some reviews of them melting. I'm chalking it up as flukes or operator error.

I used one in my '69 VW bus for 6 years. It was my daily driver and I ran that as my heater every day during the winter. Never had an issue with it. Also kept the bus warm on some extremely cold nights using just the pilot light. I highly recommend them.

Hey all, haven't been by in a long while...honestly, having a tough year...... Anyway, popped in to say hello and ask for some ideas. Put about 9k on the truck since I was here last. Been averaging about 15.6mpg. I drive it like a little old lady and I can't do better. I did get better once on a partial tank, but that was all down hill from Truckie to Vacaville...21mpg. Lately though, I am lucky if I get 13mpg. Nothing has changed with the truck that I can see. I know I need to change the diff oil in front and back. What could be causing the sudden drop in mpg? I know with my old car, when the spark plugs were old (and I am talking old...they were about 40k overdue in being changed) the milage suffered. With 76k on the truck, do you think the plugs are old? I have tried a new air filter (old one was completely white) and issue persists...

Oh, I remember that some of you were interested in purchasing my dads old pistol. I am ready to let it go, let me know if you are interested.

Well, you’re currently 46k past the spark plug service interval...

I would change plugs. I am a very religious maintenance freak. Oil at 3000 miles plugs every 6000 and coils every 20k. Air filter change with plugs as 6k. But then again I love my preventative maintenance.

Plugs are to be changed that frequently? Wow. Okay. I will try that first. According to what service records I have from my dad, looks like they weren’t changed. Granted, I have two, two year gaps in service records. No idea what is missing.

For Budman, my old car was at 120k when the plugs were changed. Their interval for changing out was every 40k (per the service manual). I missed one and didn’t notice until the mileage suffered.

30k is the service interval for plugs, unless you'd like to do them earlier. I'm at 28,9xx right now, and am collecting all the goodies for my upcoming 30k service.
