Yup it's on prime. Definitely a great show. Also just steal a friend's HBO Now login. I use a friend's Netflix and Hulu, he uses my HBO Now login.

God I fucking "love" my job. Some people just piss you the fuck off with their demanding emails, thinking they are God, when in reality they are just a salesperson for a side of the company that barely makes any money margin wise, and only sells "a lot" quantity wise. Tomorrow is setting up for me to just get myself in trouble and just walk the fuck out. It has all the makings. Fucking boiling right now. That's what I get for doing shit on my own time and reading and answering emails at home, at night.

 

Overall a productive evening, changed the oil and filters in both of my trucks after work. All is right with the headlight as well. Now I need to fix my amp...

 

I just got rid of a bunch of t-shirts older than that. Mostly band t-shirts. I haven't worn them for years though.

 

From what I've heard, the crime rate is really high there. The babies might come after you!

Hopefully it works out. You gotta learn to turn that phone off when you get home, they are not paying you, don't do work for them. That's what kills a lot of people (not literally) and burns them out, they don't ever stop their jobs. When the clock hits 5 pm (or whenever your closing is) tell your boss, "Have a good day" and then forget they exist until the next morning.

 

I really need to start doing that... part of the problem is if I stop, the next day I come in and I'm super in the hole already, and playing catch up all morning, which them keeps me from getting other stuff done.

Yeah... I still stand by everything I said. They don't pay, you don't work. Otherwise you are doing them favors and working for free, THEY WILL NEVER DO THAT FOR YOU.

Work your hours and when things slow down explain what is going on, or even be proactive and say "hey you guys keep over loading us and I can't get this done within work hours, we need more help, or you need to pay me more". Unless you own the business or have some special deal to work 24/7, they should be PAYING you and if they aren't, you shouldn't be working.

Now, I know nothing is ever so clear cut in life and I am sure I'm being a little bit hard lined, but I am sick of employers doing this to people these days. You work, work, work, and then they throw you out when you start costing too much, or start sticking up for yourself.

I use to be a workoholic. Not anymore. It became expected to go way above and beyond. I give them an honest 8 hours - sometimes a bit more for urgent issues, but hold the line as everything becomes urgent. Heck, I've been known to stop in mid sentence of an email or report when quitting time comes. It'll still be there tomorrow.

 

I have a friend in bio-tech who does this. He works his hours and leaves. He says everyone else always looks at him funny when he leaves at regular closing hours, but his boss' have never said anything to him about it. I think you can't legally force people to work for free, or punish them because they won't...something about slavery, I dunno, not big into history.

 

Yup, I get the same funny looks at times. Just give them a smirk back...
