Does the Tacoma have a "low windshield washer fluid" light in the instrument cluster?

The Tacoma does have a place to hold the gas cap though. I don't want to start anything, but the gasshole seems completely unnecessary to me.

Does not seem like a "real" problem to me.

Admittedly, I now live in FL but I have been driving for a few decades and lived over half my life in Oklahoma where wind, rain, sleet, ice, as well as the occasional snow happen during winter months.

I still open the hood each time I fill the tank, excluding a "top-off" when traveling. With the hood open I can, and do, check the washer fluid, oil, radiator level, and look around for leaks and other problems. I guess I was taught that these things are important and still feel that way.

I see very few people with cars that have matching body panels do this. Maybe I am just old and crazy. :der:Taught all 3 of my kids to do the same, though the girls are less than likely to check anything besides how they look.:notsure:

The solution is simple. Check that shit every 2-3 days or once a week and that's it.

Yeah. I grew up in PA (22 loooong years). In the 80s / 90s, we had mosquito bumps for washer reservoirs with no sensors.

A review of your owners manual will show you the features your truck does and doesn't have I think.

In the meantime, consider yourself fortunate that you are young enough to have washers at all. Or wipers with an electric motor rather than vacuum operated, and at least 2 speeds. Or even intermittent wipers.

We invented all those things for you youngsters. Just like we invented the internet.

    Old guys rule. :p

Question is, what are you doing to improve the next generation? Bitcoin mining and 3d multi player shooter games aren't gonna get it done.

Here's a novel idea: Visually check your fluids before you run out! You know, personal responsibility and all that...

My wife used to have a minivan that had an indicator. Damned thing gave me hell and after a week of trying to figure it out. Decided to replace the faulty thing (sensor was part of the bottle), clearly bad cause the reservoir was full. I found out there was on in the back. When trying to order the replacement part.

    The back one was empty.

2 bins one dummy light

I live in the northeast, use my washer fluid often. That’s how I know to fill it up.

I'm pretty sure my 1st gen has one but I normally top it off before it empties. It does hold a whole gallon which is nice.
