Yeah, weekends we normally go in at 8am and with as broke as we are it’ll probably be a 12 hour shift

 

Exhibit 1 crusty oring sealed spherical bearing "uniball". UCA uniballs don't even have orings that I'm aware of.

 

So do I see a better solution in your future to prevent this mess from happening again.

 

Replace the bearing with OME supplied bearing. If it happens again I will get them to replace it, not replacing it again myself, and I will buy something else.

 

Kinda sucks to not have O-rings. This is why I am not really a fan of heim joints, uniballs, etc on the suspension for a majority street car. There is a lot shorter life span to them than bushings or ball joints.

 

Yep race applications are run harder but also taken apart, inspected, maintained, and replaced on very short intervals.

 

Plus if you have everything "hard mounted" it is not a very comfortable ride and very noisy.

The folk that have custom stuff built need to understand this too, it’s cool and fast but the required maintenance far exceeds your wife’s Camry.

I may have known a guy who took a nascar chassis and put an old body on it before Roadkill did it. It was a hoot but he only drove it once in a while but still almost every trip was a tear down check stuff. When we ran Orange County speedway every week was a tear down and repair, replace, or check cond. and that was only running 50 or so laps so maybe 30 miles.
