Galvanic corrosion. I’ve wondered that, because it’s already steel hardware in aluminum threads.

This is a tough choice, both wheels are very nice imo. I love the 2nd gen taco pro wheels, but chose the 4runner pro wheels since they're 17" and you have a ton more tires options in that size.

Love that black Taco with the black beadlocks. You gotta have beefy tires like KO2s on the beadlocks or they don’t look right.

If you decide to run without trim rings you can always use these black plastic 8mm plugs.

Or Run with screws that will fit flush

Black on black trim rings also look good

There are so many ways to change the look of the TRD beadlocks, not many at all to change with the 4runner wheels.

I went back n forth on those 2 wheels. I liked that if I mangled a wheel on a rock, the beadlock wheel ring can be replaced cheap or removed prior to said shenanigans. That being said

Yeah, I did the same thing.

Researched the hell out of beadlock styles, collected the data on different type then went and bought the 4Runner wheels.

My dealer gave me mine free because they fucked up their order...then didn't return my 75$ locking ones. Maybe you can trade if you order from your dealer? They got me my beadlocks at a price that matched the lowest online, so if your dealer is sorta okay, you might be able to work something out.

Thanks for all these photos, I didn't realize my future options to change the look so much when I purchased, but I am excited now.

I like both. I have the 4runner wheels mainly due to them being cheaper though.

Damn that’s a tough choice. I’ve had both, on two different trucks, but my choice on a 3rd gen is the SEMA T4R.

Yeah, it was on eBay. Gorilla lug nuts are not cheap but I didn't want to risk buying the inexpensive stuff. At least shipping was fast and free.

Have you considered the 17” TRD forged fake bead locks? Kind of like the best of both worlds except for price.
