    Hey Team Tacoma... checkisout

So, that was in my “Test Drives Beginning” thread.

Now that I’ve jumped into my first Tacoma, and “...embraced the dark side...” as @Deathray put it, I am on a research mission for modifications that fit my user profile.

To start, the dealer gave me a cash back to cover tinting the front side windows. He also threw in 3 bed rail tiedown clips, since there was only one in the rail. They offer 15% off accessories in the next 30 days. Of course, we are talking Toyota/Partner accessories installed there at their authorized dealer shop.

Running boards or step rails are number one, besides the tint.

Next I am looking for a good equipment rack over the bed that is set on outriggers to allow a soft top bed cover. Then a roof basket that lines up with the rack. Thule looks to be the right one, as I saw a Taco with that set up, minus the soft top.

That’s what I’m looking at people. Change my mind or make it up. The info inflow and resulting conversations in the “Test Drives Beginning” thread was awesome. It’s great to be here at Tacoma World!

Cheers and have a great weekend errrone!
    ~Jes

good luck with that head clearance as a driver........ with the screen hitting your forehead for the nightvision screen.... and thats without a helmet..... not to mention the legroom in either humvee or matv.... they both suck.....

Not much of a driver, I prefer the cop car-esque style of the back. Who needs knees anyways. At least the A/C works.. Oh wait.. It's not deadlined as long as it blows some kind of air, nobody said it had to be cold

Seat covers would be the next recommendation, the cloth starts to look a bit ratty in a short amount of time.

I personally prefer the Clazzios but a lot of people also like Wet Okole too. Plenty of customization options from both companies.

Get some decent floor mats like Husky or Weathertech too, far better than any of the OEM offerings.

You can see a little bit of it near the console in the pics above.

I’ll post some more detailed pics later.

You’re right about that. I showed her those black rims this morning and she was like “I’m starting to regret you buying this truck...”

That's how it goes; they never understand the, um, effort it takes to perfect a ride. Keep us posted on wheels/tires you're serious about; everyone's always looking for that next deal.

Frankly, I’ve always been a fan of these classic looking steel spoke wheels. ~$65
