Hmph... annexed NY territory of CT...

Looks like a couple of inches down here already. Probably one or so of it was overnight. The snow started back up again around 7:30 or so I think.

I actually was surprised to see snow falling this morning when I got up, but by the time I finished making my coffee it had stopped again. It's been on & off all morning since then, but nothing heavy enough to stick yet. Just advance scouts for the main force.

That looks to be a baby, of the human variety, somewhere in the 15-25lb range.

Apparently I'm in more of a dick mood than normal today... :anonymous:

He said it was a Potcake, which if I remember right is a catch-all term for a mutt from the Caribbean region. Looks like there may be some Alsatian in there, from the coloring. Maybe some Lab too from the shape of the nose and the floppy ears. But it's anybody's guess

A buddy of mine has a mutt from that area that looks very similar, actually, but in miniature. Juno is probably 25lbs.

She's a Potcake. They're a unique "breed" native to Bahamas/Turks and Caicos Islands. Its basically a feral population that roams the islands. They get the name from people leaving their pots of rice and peas out for the stray dogs to eat what was left caked on (hence Potcake).

There is a rescue organization in T&C called Potcake Place (potcakeplace.com). They rescue litters of puppies from the streets when they find them, get them cleaned up, shots given, then adopt them out. She is an amazing dog. very smart. right now she's about 55 lbs, but shes slightly over weight. she does a lot of sleeping (in sometimes unconventional positions).

Its funny, when we play with the baby, caya will get up from sleeping, get her toys, and play right next to us.

Mornin boys, and girl. I could use some advice on potentially selling my truck. I've been going back and forth on this and I'm trying to figure out my best option. I'm trying to figure out if I should trade it in to the dealer, they gave me a pretty decent offer, or try and sell it outright as it is with all my armor, etc. If I trade it in I can remove all the armor because I still have all the original parts to replace them with then sell the bumper, skids and sliders separately. If I sold it myself I guess I'm struggling to figure out where to price it with all my goodies. Anyone have any guesses on a decent price to sell?

Depends on a couple of factors. You've got to have time to sell it yourself, obviously. Also, you need to sell it for enough to cover the added sales tax you'd have to pay on your new truck, since when you trade a vehicle in the state considers that value to have already been taxed. So (as an example)if the dealer offered you $10k for your trade, you'd have to sell your truck for at least $10k worth of sales tax more than that price in order to just break even, let alone come out of it ahead of the game. Which shouldn't be difficult; Tacomas are a hot commodity and dealers tend to lowball on trade-ins. But it's something to keep in mind.
Plus you've got the added hassle of having to deal with the people of Craigslist, which can be easy as pie or a real pain in the ass, depending on who you happen to get.

A big question is your financial situation. Can you buy the new one before you sell the current one? It might take a while to find the right buyer for a modded truck. Also, if you trade it in and sell the "extras" separately, you're putting in much more effort. I've always felt that selling myself rather than trading in gets more of the value out of it. Just my 2 cents. but good luck with your decision

I like to trade if I get a good price cause then I keep my green tag, the sales tax is less and I don't have to deal with people on cl saying they are coming and not showing up
