Mine moves as well, but the design of mine isn't that awesome and with a 35, 5 gal gas and 20lb co2 its a lot of weight. But shouldn't move THAT much. I think mine is like 1/2'' of deflection max.

 

What kit?

 

Well, had to park the truck til I can get a transmission to throw in it. It’s going to lock soon.

 

IMO, it only seems to be an issue when the kitchen is open. When swingout is open in camp. I am kind of intrigued by Zane's 'kickstand' idea to address that.

 

I've thought of that before for mine. But the ground is always a different height from the swingout. And I don't think any nicely adjustable mono pod will support the weight anyways. One with locking pins might like an aluminum cane but you'd have limited adjustment.

 

I was using a monopod to describe the idea but I think actually three pieces of thicker aluminum tubing and some of those compression telescoping joints would be able to support it enough to mitigate the bulk of the sag. Especially if the aluminum is knurled.

 

Dual swingout is the way to go.

Less stress. Takes less room to open. Truck doesn't lean to one side when open. And none of this:

I shoulda went dual swingout. They look bad ass too.

 

So I thought driving around with suspension rated for a bumper and armor, without armor would be kind of ridiculous - so obviously the best option is to drive 6 hours across the state and pick up a Relentless Fab Predator Bumper and Sliders in Los Angeles.

So that's exactly what I'm going to do. Can't wait.

As Dan @turbodb pointed out, you will loose the larger expanse of kitchen surface with a dual. Maybe the same overall square footage but will be broken into two smaller surfaces.

I have ways of not losing the counter space In fact probably doubling it.

That being said, I hardly ever use it, I'd rather bring a little camp table and not be tied to the truck.
