Question for the experienced off roaders, I have a TRD or, stock, Duratrac tires.
How deep of snow I can travel on a logging road, no tracks yet. I could chain up if need it
    Thanks

Totally depends on the snow. No way to tell you an exact depth. Snow changes a lot. Even in the same day you can drive in fine then the sun softens things up and your screwed and cant drive out.

You can go until you high center. Different snows (powder dry or east coast wet) will allow different depths.
Here in the east, 18" to 24" is about max with a wet snow. Out west, you can go pretty deep (24" 30") before you get bogged down.
Chains are important, but eventually your truck will just "float" up on the snow and it then does not matter what tires, chains or studs you have, your tires will not have enough ground pressure to continue.

I did preface it with "powder" lol. That's typically what I've found as I have been off road in a LOT of places and sometimes, these places are snowy. Like the North Slope for example haha.

Supposed to stay home, call in ... it's a snow day bro! Woohooo

We are getting slammed here on the East Coast 2" and hour wet snow not much wind either thankfully.

If I didn't have to drive on roads with other crazy drivers I'd go out wheeling on streets but too many weirdos wanting to "take a drive" in the snow. Yup, it's the same as it was last time... lets go faster.

Stock tires... meh. Take chains and an air pump... letting out some air like in sand will help with traction to a degree.. maybe the thinner tires will help in real deep snow but as mentioned only to a point... snow in engine compartment fucks with drive belt = stranded.

Oh yeah blankets, don't forget blankets.

On my way down the canyon yesterday I saw some fool who tried to pull in to park in 2 feet of snowplow berm snow with a tiny sedan with abut 5 inches of clearance. Even my lifter Tacoma with good snow tires would've gotten stuck in that shit.

you can go as far as the chains can dig in. as said eariler u r boned if the truck floats. But with fat chains, tacoma
can king-kong it's way around snowy woods pretty damn deep. but ...one hidden log and the chains can't climb it,
u r boned yet again. bring a bigass cable, straps, and comealong or winch to be sure you can get out

giver shit until you get stuck. kinda hard to gauge it when you snow wheeling especially if its fresh powder or heavy wet snow like we get here. I've had snow almost to my waist and been fine. I've also been stuck in barely a foot cause my truck bogged down and all four tires dug themselves in.

I carry a shovel in the winter. When you get high centered its a lot better using a shovel than your hands. High centered is very annoying. Have not done it in my 2018. YET

Short and long answer: it depends.

If you're going to be running in a lot of deep snow, best bet is either bring a winch or bring a friend.

Bro we are getting slammed 2" per hour for all day.. dood just got stuck in front of my house with a rear wheel drive caddy GTS and NO snow tires. Had no clue how to drive in snow much less get out when stuck... asked to borrow my shovel.

I'm like I'll get you out ... once you get going DONT STOP. His clearance wasn't as deep as the snow. I'm surprised he got out.

In my case , driving over a frozen lake to get to work every day as an example , there are snow drifts that go for a couple miles . A quality set of skinny snow tires , something heavy in the box of the truck like a snowmobile or quad runner and you can pull through a foot and a half fairly well while in 4x4 .
I havnt taken my truck outta 4x4 since September of last year .

Had a set of really nice V-Bar chains I’d use on both fronts and rears on my 1st Gen, and now they are too fat to work on my 3rd gen due to the close proximity of the brake components on the inside edge of the tire. Too bad Toyota.

Chains aren't good in real deep snow because they dig too much and you get high centered. Your Duratracs are pretty ok. Get a can of starting fluid and a lighter in your glovebox and air down to about 5psi. Don't run the locker.

    Stock size tires, no lift.
