I'll snap a couple pictures this evening and post them tomorrow. I believe they are both "J-Pro" models. Structurally they are both sound, some sun fading and the foam is cracked/ripped on a couple.

Lots of room to put a set on each side!

What makes the Malones better than the yakima or the like? I've seen a set of yakima I think it was at Dick's for like 50-60 bucks? Wonder how hard that would be to set up on a Prinsu rack.

I have no idea. The ones I have are tough, I hauled my 89 pound predator with it. It may have been the weight limiting factor why I went with those. I used the J cradles on my car but sold the car.

I'm just trying to recover some of my money from buying two sets of Thule saddles and hydro glides for the taco :bananadead:

That’s what just got delivered...a set of Thule saddles and a set of hydro glides. Took a bit of adjusting to get the boat centered but now that they’re set, I’m good to go! So smooth and easy sliding it on and off the trailer now.

I've heard they were a great combo that's why I went that direction. The Hydro glides were a must with loading them on the rack on top of my shell.

I also picked up a new Star Rod Stellar Lite for this brand new older model Penn reel I’ve had for forever. Going to throw some line on it in a bit...

+1 on the compass. Just purchased mine weeks ago....as lite as that is, you should be able to man handle that...

Looks like a nice rod! In 2016 I lost about a $300 rod/reel setup, flipped the kayak in 30 feet of 40 degree water... Now I use leashes, however I still lost a cheap set up last summer from fumbling around trying to snag bunker.

Definitely a lightweight boat...I was dead set on an Outback because of the weight but once I found out about the compass, I waited for its release. I mainly wanted to be able to roof top it if needed and the Compass can be thrown around pretty easily once you get a decent grip on it.

Not going to jinx myself here so I’ll just say that I have leashes for everything...just that sometimes they’re not connected on one end or another.

Was first introduced to them when I was shopping for a rod for a Shimano TLD that was given to me by @rogs6266. Nice rods for the money!

Keeps reel/rod, electronics or whatever you clip it to attached to whatever you’re in.

Along with the weight savings, the deck space and rudder design were big pros for me. After all the extras I got for it, including upgrading to the 180, I’m right at about Outback pricing.

I know what they are. Lol. I was being a smart ass. My leashes are just simple paracord that I should use more often.
