Probably a gif with the wrong extension. Does it say .jpeg or .png at the end of the file name? If it's a gif, change the end of the file name to .gif and try it.

Okay guys...sell me on a shell. I want it and then I don’t want it. I can’t make up my mind. Do I want color matched or just plastidip a white one black? I hate being so indecisive. Earlier I was thinking about getting a roll up tonneau cover because my rack can fit over one. It’s like a revolving door of stuff I could do and then it’s on to the next.

No with the voodoos there is an option to add brackets to allow the use of a tonneau cover. Adds another inch of height and depending on the type of cover it won’t let you open with the rack on the truck.

I am confused? I was asking about what you're considering vs getting a shell what do you want to compare the shell to as far as pros and cons?

Do you ever haul anything that's semi large?

Side note, WTF are these splash guards officially called.

Ummm I haven’t yet. Honestly that’s not an option. No tonneau cover. Truck came with one and it wouldn’t close with a cooler in the back.

Get a shell then. It's reallllllly nice having the locking storage back there, and never having to worry about if it's going to rain on my gear on not. Plus you have a secure/stealthy place to sleep in a pinch.

Ok so with your current set up and even adding a tannue you are almost eliminating hauling larger stuff.

    Pros for a hard cap

    1) larger waterproof storage
    2) can build a platform/drawers and cubbies to carry misc. gear and sleep in camping
    3) can haul stuff on the roof
    4) easier to get stuff out of the most forward area compared to tonnue (sp?)
    5) look at @Subway4X4 storage rails he mounted on the top
    6) more weight in the ass=better traction for a 2wd
    7) longer lasting than a soft tonnue
    8) can sell your RTT if you want and sleep in the back maybe if you're not too tall?
    9) more dry storage
    10) dogs can ride back there
    11) the customizing for storage and organizing is endless
    12) stuff can be locked up easier without having a bunch of pad locks
    13) everything you carry on the rack can now be kept out of the elements
    14) it's not as hard to take on and off as people say if the need arises compared to your rack+a tonneu

Hmm anyone else got some more to add?

You do realize you asked this in a thread that is very biased towards the shell with a lot of us having them right?

Yeah I like the locking aspect of it too. Like the other day I had to bring my golf clubs in because I wasn’t going to leave them just sitting in my bed for the weather or someone to steal.

    Even I have a shell.

Yes it's built in, but it still counts. Right?
