Master gear kits going in tomorrow at Premier West Coast Gears in Riverside, CA. Their also throwing in the ECGS bushing. Really hoping that these things go in with no issues.

Getting mine installed tomorrow also. After talking to several people I am going with Martin's mobile gear. Seems he has a great rep. For installs.

bought mine in the xmas group buy and just got them installed and truck back today. no rem or cryro. installer did the initial break-in. Taking it easy for the next few hundred miles and keeping it under 60mph - which is easy for my daily city driving. Initially I can say it takes a whole lot less pedal to reach speed and the shifting is what the mother ship should have built into the truck from the word go. no lift so no bushing.

So funny thing is that Premier West Coast Gears is Martin mobile gears nephew. So there all family and came from the same business. They have gone through the trial and error period and broken ABS sensors before causing all the nightmares we read about on here. They said that doesnt happen anymore with their experience on how to work around them. It mainly happened on rear they said. Anyway throwing in my ecgs bushing for free and they also do Lockers. There installing 3 tacomas this week. Anyone looking to have lockers, gears, ecgs bushings installed i highly recommend these two places in SOCal as the question comes up alot on places to go.

Brake in 60mph no more than 30 minutes for 500 miles is what I was told.

Thats pretty funny! I had Martin install mine this morning . These guys know what they are doing thats for sure! He started at 8:30 this morning and i was driving away at 11:45. ECG and rear locker added. I passed on the front locker hope i dont regret it. But highly recommend Martin's mobile gear service. I had the REM polish done but will still follow the brake in instructions. Everything feels great so far no leaks or hum or any vibrations! :headbang:

Question for those that have completed their 4.88 upgrades as it relates to the Diff Oil change after Break In procedure.

I had my Nitro 4.88 installed, front and rear at 2,349 miles and then, after completing the break in, at 3,421 miles I drained the REAR diff oil and replaced with 75-140W Full Synthetic. I have NOT engaged the FRONT diff for 4WD yet (other than to check to be sure 4WD Hi and Low engaged properly).

Since I have not yet really run in 4WD, I'm guessing no need yet to swap out the initial diff oil in the Front? Curious what the recommended procedure is here.

I’m still in the break-in process but have been running 4x4 just to give the gears some work.
I’m planning to change both front and back after 500 miles with 75-140.
But to answer your question, my installer didn’t think it was necessary if minimal use of 4x4.

I asked the gear guy this question since I saw it. He said dont worry about it and just change it later on that there isnt a hard set rule due to not using it much.

Yukon now offers 4.88 gears. Which route to go: Yukon vs Nitro? Have heard totally opposite things from different folks so don't know which route to go...

So are you on 4.88's and on OVTune 1.03? If so, how is it?

Call or click SLEE Off Road http://www.sleeoffroad.com/ - they order and install Nitro 4.88's - they are on Hwy 93 just past Golden on the way to Boulder.
    Good guys. HTH.

the complete 3rd and clamshell from ECGS are both still sitting in my living room waiting to go in but haven't had the time to install them due to work and weather. The OVtune has been pretty good so far and keeps me satisfied till the gears can go in. I'll update once they are done
