    I'd almost wonder if somebody who knew absolutely nothing about brakes (99% of the population) stuck a screw driver in there in an attempt to adjust the brakes. If they got the screw driver under the adjuster and pulled really, really hard on it, they could almost do that kind of damage. Then again, in all of my years of working on brakes, I've never seen or bent an adjuster like that.

    How many miles on your truck? 3 rear brake jobs seems like a lot.. were they adjusted too tight maybe? Eating up shoes in a hurry?

    207000. I every time I changed the shoes they had mud in them. But Last time I did it I changed the drums too. The spring must've come off the bottom that holds the shoes together. Kept catching the drum while offroading and jamming the wheel.

    Yeah rebuilt the brakes and everything is in working order. Call the dealership and they gave me the bs story. But no real answer to why they are bent. Thanks for all the advice.
