CEL, battery, A/T oil temp, oil indicator came on while dying and truck shut off

Got in my truck drove for 5 minutes and this happens^ without warning. Any thoughts ?

 

Usually means it's not charging i.e. Alternater died.

 

Could be dead ignition coil(s). Check CEL codes.

 

The lights come on because the key is on and the engine is not spinning

 

Out of gas.

 

That’s a great place to start. Whenever I stall my truck, my dash lights up like a Christmas tree, so it may not mean anything. If you turn the key back and try and start it, what happens?

 

It's at 1/8th maybe a little under but No gas light

 

Did the lights come on before or after it died? If before, it wasn't charging but if after, there's no telling.

 

But maybe no fuel is getting to the engine.

 

It cranks and wants to start but doesn't, getting gas now tho

 

I would recommend this to start, and put some gas in. There have been a few recent cases of people running out of gas when their gauge still says they have 1/4 tank left

 

What year is your stock 5 lug ?

 

That's a prank it's a 06 4.0 I forgot about the 5 lug thing

 

It was the gas though. Comparing the cap to a new 4 runner it's definitely done. Should be replaced today. Thanks for the help everyone!

 

This just happened to me, was idling for 10 minutes, turned truck off. Went to turn truck on 10 mins later and it started but after 3 seconds shut off and these lights plus oil light came on. Tried starting it 3 more times, it would start but only idle until the fuel stopped sending after 1 second and shut off.
Took out dipstick to check oil, looked great, then went to start and all is good… really weird.
