    Funny you say that. lol

About 15 years ago I rear-ended a modified Chevy S-10 that had aftermarket tail lights. The tail lights totally sucked cause they were LEDs which was a really new thing (at the time). I was partially distracted (so it was totally my fault), but out of the corner of my eye, I never noticed the guy's brake lights change from "regular" illumination to "braking/stopping" illumination. I wanted to dispute it, but after talking with my girlfriend's father (a local sherrif of the town), I realized how hard it would have been because there were no state laws against modified tail lights (in AZ at the time). Basically, I would have had to prove that the tail lights did not meet DOT standards (which were fairly lax/generic) and would have possibly cost me $$ to get the testing done. No thanks

You hit the nail right on the head! That there is my primary thought (besides the "is it legal" argument). Everyone has different situations (and tastes) and so they will have different requirements.

For some, that may be as simple as which is the best/brightest. For others, brightness isn't as big of an issue if 90% of their driving is in a well lit city and they have aux lights for the other 10% (where there is no oncoming traffic too)...so color temps and/or power efficiency are more important.

It all boils down to what improves your driving situation (in your setting), at your pricepoint, while also meeting any other requirements that are important to you.

Cool, I was shooting for mildly supportive but this is way better! :D I agree, a lot of great peeps on here. I have seen things get out of hand though and that's to be expected too. If we weren't all individuals it would be scary and boring. I can only argue with myself so long before I win.

I am older than most, had more vehicles than most, and a avid automotive buff so I've been a member of a lot of various forums. I've run threads on forums that required someone to. I'm short fused by nature but the older I get the less things bother me. Except for those damn kids playing on my lawn. I enjoy forums and all they have to offer. This thread is great. Very often do people get close like we have. It helps to all have the same common goal and that's what makes this community great for me. We all have the same shared interest.

So I try to be as adult as possible all the time but, there are time, when I want to just flip the F out!

Like now, knowing my Morimoto XB Fogs are sitting in my mail box at home!!!!!!!!!! Happ Taco Dance Time! :taco::taco::taco::taco::taco:
I think the Hikari's are going to be delivered tomorrow so that means this Saturday it is on Bitches!!!

Agreed but applied science like the myth busting @crashnburn80 is about to do also intrigues me. I like actual hands on testing, haven’t been one for “theory or theoretically speaking”...unless the theory is too big of $$$ to risk. I was always the type of guy that had to see it, or try it to believe it to not accept it to my satisfaction. We can all agree that these bulbs are satisfactory to most even if science says no because we didn’t spend thousands to give it a shot and they do have quite some function as opposed to the rice rocket days where blue tinted bulbs that shot into the tree lines made young enthusiasts quite pleased because the color was “cool” and that was all that mattered to them.

I saw that color last night on a late model F250. I see it daily up near me in the woods of Hazard County. Pink too which I just for the life of me can not figure out.
Last night in the city though a saw some fogs on something with 4 doors and they were changing colors

listen that's a double UB40 album. I don't listen to FM anymore, just internet radio. I figured someone would pick on the pick bag before the CD's.

Here's a question I thought of today. Im currently running the GTR Gen 3 LED's in my lows and highs right now and so far I'm enjoying them, only real complaint was with installation and fully removing the headlights for install. Come to find out there is enough wiggle room to install with only removing the top two bolts, info a couple of months to late. So, the new 18 Tundras come equip with LED's. I wonder if you can install these on the Tacoma, what the cost is, and how well do they perform. Might be a good option for people who haven't converted to LED yet.

Someone should investigate this for all of us Taco drivers.
