Off gassing could be a problem still. Just because the cured product is food safe doesn't mean the after fumes aren't still harmful or carcinogenic. You can deliver water through PVC but if you overheat it or burn it the fumes and leeching can cause cancer, just an example. My bed used to have a bit of an odor to it on hot days, and that was over 5 years after it had been Line-X'd

All the more reason to be a windows down guy like me than an AC guy lol

I'm a windows down kinda guy too, but around here that don't cut it sometimes haha. Hopefully I won't have to put up with it for more than one summer, already planning on moving.

It's funny - at the state line last year in the middle of July I could do the windows down all day in 100-110 degree weather. One night in the high desert it was so bad my friend (who can't stand the heat) asked to put on the AC at 10 pm and I was like "yeah, I think I would even if he didn't ask" - it was like driving into a furnace - that was around Amboy and F it was hot. It was the weirdest thing since the heat wasn't coming from the sun.

It's crazy around here, the concrete and asphalt holds so much heat.

I'm restoring my 5-lug interior right now since it had 20 years of abuse and the plastics are scratched beyond recognition. I'm going to be finishing it like you would on auto/body parts. Low grit (80) to remove imperfections and slowly upping the grits until you get to 400 grit. My process is 80, 120, 320, and 400. Then use self etching primer followed by a wet sand with 400 grit, then several layers of thin base coat.

Smaller trim parts like the glove box or door trim I'll run it through my sandblaster with Garnet media initially, followed my Aluminum Oxide media afterwards.

I'm using Rustoleum Black Bumper and Trim paint which is perfect for this application. I already used it in my daily driver to paint the window switch trims and it's held up well the past year.

I’m totally a windows down guy all the way, Hot or cold!
    My girlfriend would disagree though..
She and the girls all have long hair so if they’re riding the windows are up.

I am about to dynamat (Noico on Amazon) every square inch of the cab to reduce road noise. Then I’m installing closed cell foam insulation sheets to line my cab ceiling in an effort to maintain a cooler cab temperature during the oppressive TX summer heat!!

How did the Line-X project turn out? You still happy with it seven years later?
