Boggles my mind how many threads there are about saving 1/2 a MPG. or mad because they lost 1 mpg. or confused about 3/4 mpg difference between what one user say and what you're seeing and the "WHY WHY WHY do I not get better MPG"

truly, someone do the math. how much $$ are we talking about over a year with 1mpg difference? just found a website that does it for me. if your gas is $3 a gallon and you drive 12500 miles a year you save........ wait for it...... wait for it....... $150. thats it.

I just NEVER would have thought guys buying trucks would talk MPG so much. you'd think this was a Prius forum.

There's a lot of things you can buy with $150... but I see your point

I can't say that I am too picky about MPGs, but you haven't accounted for environmental concerns. Sure, we each individually may not amount to a lot, but collectively we sure do. just saying.

Not to get too sidetracked, but I would be all over a hybrid Tacoma.

That's a lot of miles. I think most the people complaining are at 5-8mpg below sticker. Which is a lot when you were told otherwise. However their trucks are probably working as designed and the driving habits/environment and modifications are at fault.

To the OP......if your truck looks like your Avatar, then money obviously means nothing to you. Some owners happen to be on fixed incomes with issues: Income decreases yearly and all expenses increase.

So, to you $150 is chump change, but not necessarily to everyone else!

PS: my buddy drives a '16 F-150 4x4 and gets close to 30MPG regularly!!!!

Hey, $150 is a lot of hookers and blow, man.

(BTW, my previous vehicle was a Chevrolet Volt... it literally costs FIVE TIMES MORE per mile to drive my Taco!)

because its my fucking money and if I can save some of it by not getting shitty MPG in a mini-truck that doesn't need to weigh 5,000lbs then I'd be good with that.

SOOOOOO much better. think i weigh a couple pounds less now. Bet you i get +1mpg now that i weigh less in my truck!

I have no reply to this that won't send me down a rabbit hole of anger.

No. i'm spending that $150 on 1 worse MPG than the other guy who has 1 more MPG than me.

    oh boy...

When you put it that way ! LOL I for one question the norm that say they get 16-18 mpg at 75 to 80 mph compared to the ones that claim 24 to 28 mpg at 75 and 80 mph. At a difference of 125000 miles a year at the high end of both at $3 a gallon , it comes to $7440 a year . This is a bit different .

if you drive 12500 miles a year. DANG. you better buy a prius. but at 12500 its a difference of $1100. which is a lot. but we didn't buy tacomas expecting 28 MPG. if you did, you're crazy
