It's idiots like that who kill innocent families when their overweight trailer gets away from their truck that should have never been pulling it.

They seem to have the same mentality as people who think they can still drive fine when they are drunk.

Use the right tool for the job.

I'd put VW a little higher on the list too.

The thing I don't get is they know they are about 3x the recommended towing capacity!!! (2.7L max towing configuration is 3500#) Even if they go with the 'world platform' 2.7L trucks those are still only rated for 5000#. IF it was a V6 truck it would still max out at 6700-6800# (with the new v6 with tow package). That means no mater what the configuration is, this person was a minimum of 2400#s over weight!!!!!!!!!! :annoyed:

Anyone can drive the ring. I did in in rental cars back in the late 90s. Pay your toll, and have some fun.

Seems like alot of money to fix all the guard rails and clean up after the wrecks. Kind of surprises me they allow that. Lots of not so great drivers out there.

If you damage the property you or your insurance company are responsible for it. When I was there they had a little kiosk where you could buy insurance just for that.

Yup. Always pay up for the insurance. There are also rent-a-racer shops near by that are heavily insured.

You also have to remember that the average European driver is much better at controlling a car than most Americans.

Our licensing requirements are a joke.

When I first got into cars, and shortly thereafter racing, my dad gave me two pieces of advice:

    1. Never race your daily driver

    2. If you worry about resale value or gas mileage you need to find a new hobby.

Not really a WTF, just didnt know where else to put it.

FL shooter to face the death penalty.
    https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/florida-school-shooter-indicted-faces-042628333.html

They should take him out right now and string him up. I mean seriously, why a "trial"? He did it, it is a fact, what is going to come out in a big expensive trial? Who cares if he had it rough growing up, lots of people do but they dont go around shooting up a school.

While I *don't* disagree with you, consider:

We are a nation of laws and one of the most fundamental tenets is that of Due Process before any removal of rights.

This needs to be followed in every single instance. No matter how obvious it is that the perpetrator is guilty.

The moment we begin to pick and choose whether we go through due process is the moment that we create an arbitrary dividing line between who we give Due Process to and who we do not. Who will be empower to make that choice? How would we prevent abuses of that choice to where they could incarcerate their rivals or some group indeterminately without due process THAT would be a very scary nation to live in. We've been there before with the Japanese-American internment camps. Let's not risk starting down that road.

IMHO, it is imperative we maintain due process for everyone. No matter how blatantly obvious their guilt may be and how much of a waste going to trial would be.

I do not disagree with you one bit in almost every case. The point I am trying to make is that there are extenuation circumstances (such as this one here).
He did it. It is 100% known with out a shadow of a doubt. I honestly think that this would be a good law to change and it might actually make a difference as a deterrent.
Another example would be the San Bernadino couple (if they weren't shot, can't remember), the guy that ran over people in NY, the guy that walked up to two NYC police officers in the patrol car and killed them. These were all "caught red handed" heinous incidents that should have a much faster track to lead to the ultimate end.

Thats all I was trying to say.

I hear what you're saying, I just vehemently disagree with making even one exception. No matter how glaringly obvious. Absolute is absolute. Soon as you make an exception it stops being absolute and is subject to abuse.

I will stop here as this is not a political forum and I don't wish to upset any mods. Feel free to PM me if you wish to add further points, but know that I fully understand your point of view.
