I'm just so small subscriber wise, that I feel like I need to reach out to someone with less that 10k subscribers to not overreach (and 9999 would still be over reaching) but those channels are so small that they don't show up on my radar so I don't really know where to start...

 

Yep! One example that sticks out to me is Hunter Honda and KatKamCBR (I think her channel name is different now). Hunter Honda was a somewhat established motovlogger. KatKam was not. KatKam sends Hunter Honda fan mail. Kat Kam is featured on Hunter Honda's channel. They end up dating for a stint. Now she has over 100,000 subs. Boom! Into the club.

Nah probably not. But it seems like if you can get an established youtuber to vouch for you, then you're in. You don't have to date someone. Just cook for them.

 

I thought I was gonna have a half way decent shot with that brothers green eats contest but crockpot lasagna a garlic knots in under 3 minutes didn't cut it . I have a different vibe than them tho, and the videos they picked were more up their ally (screw diversity amrite?)

 

Seems like all of them now are starting to mention Patreon now for support of their channels. I guess they are all losing money.

 

there was a big advertisement pull about a year ago, when some companies noticed they had adds on violent videos and stuff that they didn't wanna be a part of, so a lot of the channels fell back on to patreon to make up the difference. again a problem there is gonna be I have a few dozen subscribers and I feel like I can barely get some of them to like and share a video they like so I really doubt anything could come of that financially, prolly not even enough to pay for most of the food I cook (I eat almost all of it so it's not like I'm wasting money on this, mostly just time)

 

Well if it's something you enjoy doing then you should keep doing it. You'll have a full belly and enjoy filling it. Who knows you might explode one day.

I would never be ashamed to approach anyone that I thought could help me out. Now, I wouldn't approach them with my hat in my hand begging for charity either. I'd offer them something in return. Also, don't think you have to make friends with a competitor.

AlabamaBoss used to work here at Navistar (I think he is with RatedRed now). Anyway, I could see a funny bit with a guy like him trying strange foods or you trying to teach him fine dining etc. Point being, you help someone make a good video, and they plugs your channel in return.
