Never been put that way even tho I lived right across the valley. Mostly I went around Hancock forest logging roads as I was not modded yet. ( until I fell under the bad influence of Brian)

Although I lived out there, I never went out in that area, as my truck was stock and new and I didn’t want to damage it. Then I met Brian @NorthwestCruiser, who corrupted me and sent me down the path of modification, costing me thousands and thousands of dollars. He is a bad influence. Jared is too. In fact, so is Bob, Cam, and pretty much all of us.

Idk what TTE is, or what anyone said so I'll go ahead and respond.

Any leaking is bad. And since oil has leaked out, that means your nitrogen has also leaked out. Tightening something may stop the leak, but it won't fix the issue. The shock will need to be taken apart, fluid refilled, put back together, and re-charged.

Hope you're able to get it sorted.

Edit* to answer your question directly, it's absolutely something you should be worried about.

He shouldn't have lost any actual nitrogen...though pressure might be down do to the less oil. But the nitrogen is separated from the oil by a piston in the reservoir. The temporary fix would be to tighten the fitting and stop the leak. Wouldn't go to long like that but I know your traveling in CA. But eventually would need to be depressurized, refilled with oil, and recharged again.

If your in southern CA call up Downsouth Motorsports and tell them you just need the oil refilled and recharged and they should be able to get it done fast. It only took them 2-3 days for mine when I was down there and that was with them waiting for parts to get there

I sent them an email so we will see what they say.

I tried to get it to tighten but I would need to remove the tire, and not sure I want to jack my truck up with a hi lift in the La Quinta Fresno to do it.

There goes my system 1 thinking. Every time I lost oil in my shocks the nitrogen pressure was nearly gone. I equated that to losing the nitrogen, and not just having to fill more space due to lack of oil. Good point.

It is a very small amount of nitrogen though. On Icon's even sticking the needle in to fill them makes a measurable difference in pressure.

I know its a small amount of nitrogen to charge them but no clue what the actual cubic inches would be. Im sure if you lost enough oil it would eventually seem like there was no charge until it had compressed and then on the extension stroke it would be a quicker initial motion and the slow to finish.

Or who knows...shocks are definitely not something I pretend to really understand

Im sure its like every other swap meet in the area where its 50% junk, 25% over priced stuff, 10% people just selling new stuff for more than summit, 13% good stuff for good prices if its what you were looking for and 2% actually great deals on stuff. Thogh I haven't been to this particular one to be fair. It is a $10 entrance fee

It's like if craigslist held all the listing sales at a fair ground, with some big name vendors and a slew of smaller fab shops. Some other small vendors who slang Chinese warez
