Now that sounds extra pricey. Their site shows the SR8's with beadlocks on them?

    Ah I must've missed that.
Once the program is proven I don't even watch unless a tool breaks. Then I jump up and hit the feed hold.

Ah ain't CNC wonderful. I can draft said part but I have no clue how to program it into a CNC unless it's a router or plasma, waterjet, laser table. But I do know how to run manual mills and lathes

I can draft and make it. I can even program the CNC. Unfortunately here, I only get to use my Machining skills. I hold a certification in Solidworks but I only get to use it as a hobby. :/ I'm also trained in MasterCAM.

I am so so with solidworks but I know the AutoDesk suite like the back of my hand and all of their architecture and civil programs. I have dabbled with MasterCam but it wasn't my cup of tea.

I'm also trained in AutoCAD, 3DSMax, and AutoCAD Architectural. :D I was originally going to college for engineering. I've covered that in my own build thread though.

    Sorry @Juforrest for the :threadjacked:

Edit: I'm at work till 11:30 so TW helps pass the time...

Yes but ReVit is where it's at screw AutoCad Architecture. Same with SolidWorks BIM program that is pretty sweet as well.

The best part about Autocad was the ability for the design to .......... um yeah it was a pita lol

I started using it in the 90s when it was pretty much the best game in town and there wasn't much real competition. The 3D is harder than some of the other programs but I find just doing 2D stuff I am faster at it. Now there are a ton of great options and a lot of proprietary programs and such for certain things.

I thought it was easy, I didn't even need the mouse. I could make an entire part with just the keyboard and some dimensions. C for circles and L for lines, xy coordinates and lengths. Easy Peasy. But I enjoy Solidworks much more.

I should clarify: AutoCAD was easy for 2D. Solidworks is much better for 3D.

Yeah I learned in a tech course back then in the 90's. I was average. Don't remember any of it now lol.

I have a free version of autocad knockoff wow is it haphazard at best setting limits is a PITA, the commands are clunky. Mouse doesn't really do anything and I am use to being able to highlight and manipulate with the mouse so it's aggravating. I feel like it's missing some commands. I really need to mess with this good sketchup some and really get good at it. But for what I was trained on I find it hard to navigate. I may just get a guided study book for sketchup

Someone mentioned in another thread OnShape. Its made by the people behind Solidworks apparently and is free.
    Google Sketchup is terrible.

Oh I was way above I did it in HS in the 90s and we submitted floor plans to H4H and I was the only one to get them done from my class and I won the competition. Then when I went back to school recently and got my degree I essentially was the TA for all of my drafting and architecture classes.

There are a bunch of architecture firms using it around here I think they are nuts it's so aggravating to me it's meant for MS students just wanting to play around. I'll look into that one thanks for the tip!
