Friend busted my passenger door handle last week. Bought new handles for both sides and they came yesterday, put em in today. I really like the look of the darker brown

Jeez! Come off the r-chip big strapper! Lol. All have been there. You have shit stuck in the black fresh air intake valance by the wiper bases? Had caught a piece of winter debris that was hidden in there and it was causing unneeded duress. All of a sudden a slightly muted coaches whistle would go off at speed. Coffee on the headliner!. Early mornin piss ya off. Could not find it for over 2 months. Big blast of air,,,problem/mystery solved finally.

Have you torn a door seal or window seal in really cold temps?. Sometimes those ice up snug and rip and tear as the door is peeled open. 1st gen originals here. Lucky really. A house candle smeared on the seals works wonders for ease of opening and rejecting water. Dribbling warm water on those seals takes you to the next level for no damage and whistles as you peel a frozen one free.

Well I'm in socal so I don't really have to worry about ice. I have a video of the noise. I literally climbed into the engine bay with it running to see if I could pinpoint it. Best I can say is it seems to be coming about 3 inches behind the throttle body. Also, major earfuck warning if you play the video. Turn your volume down lol

So carb cleaner is supposed to be safe to spray into the engine bay area right? Like where a vacuum leak might occur to find it?

I'e always been told yes. Or you can use low pressure compressed air. Both will change the sound of your engine if not make it die

Keep an extinguisher handy. Had a buddy do this with his exterra and it started a fire. He was able to put it out before any damage was done.

Finished the valve cover gaskets replacement today. All hoses as in the correct places and every thing looks good. Had a rough idle the ended up being a misfire, got the sorted out and now she runs like normal! Can’t wait to bust out the degreaser and power washer when it warms up outside to clean up all the oil that she was leaking. I was pleasantly surprised by how clean the throttle body was 260k miles in, Ive seen cars and trucks with 100k have extremely gunked up throttle bodies. 6F9EB9D8-24AB-48C8-BD1A-5BE8F4B549F6.jpg

Well.. found my issue and it's on the supercharger. The joint of the elbow that connects the pressure relief and the main housing is ever so slightly separated. I would be willing to bet that's causing my lean condition at idle and the whistle.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
It wasn't super hard just kinda time consuming. Get a bottle of original Windex, it really turns the glue into an easy to scrape gum substance, you'll also need a hair dryer so you can get an edge loose to start peeling from and it helps to heat as you go. And you'll need some nice new razor blades to scrape the gummy substance off after you Windex it. I just douched the glue with Windex hardcore then scraped and re windexed and kept scraping. Came out super clean though.

Awesome! Doesn't sound too bad! I'm hoping I can get to that this weekend.

I'm debating the other windows that are tinted. The front doors look they used to be, but it was removed (there's a couple flakes left). The back doors still are and the rear windows. I like the idea of the tint, but I can't decide if it looks goofy to have everything but the front doors tinted.

There's also about a quarter inch along the top of the back doors (just where it goes into the seal when you roll it up, that has started to peel down. You can't tell when they're rolled up. Currently, they are acting as german shepherd hair magnets. Super conflicted haha.

Shameless plug for my Cadillac Horn group buy going on.

Can you play spot the random Tacoma part? This used to be a two car garage. Now it's about 75% full of a million different Tacoma parts.

The horns on these trucks are just downright pathetic. You're lucky with the dual hi/lo Horns they made standard in 2001 but 1995-2000 was just a single hi tone horn which sounded more like a Japanese Moped than a truck.
