Wheel well liners?

Howdy folks,
I searched a little bit but didn't find any good results. So here goes, I have an after market bumper, lift and all that and something that's always bothered me is that the stock wheel well liners seem like cheap plastic garbage. Held in with cheap plastic garbage anchors and as soon as you add a bumper your SOL for fitment.

Mine are pretty much ate up beyond recognition now. I was doing a little maintenance on a buddies F150 and noticed he has some serious quality wheel well liners. They are a thick fabric of some sort. Don't hold mud or sand, get slick when wet and then just air dry. Seem between 1/4-1/2" thick. I noticed when driving in his truck how quiet the wheels were... This is a product of those serious liners. So i started researching for some 2015 Taco Liners... And not shit comes up.

If there is a company you know of, post it here please and if we got someone making an awesome thick, quiet, customizable liner for our trucks, leme know!

 

I Have an F-350 at work with the felt fender liners. At first we all laughed at them and fully expected them to get full of mud and junk. I was very surprised how well they stay clean and how easy they spray off with a garden hose.

 

They are super nice. I'm very impressed with them on my buddies truck. It's such a shame there arnt anything manufacturers out there making this or anything even like it for our trucks.

 

I at least want to know what the material is that Ford is using.
So I can start making them myself.

 

It seems like a type of Industrial Felt. Maybe a special blend.

 

I'm gona try to find out. With as much money as people are willing to pay to chase those small groaning noises from our wheel bearings and needle bearings and everything else... Who wouldn't invest a little to quiet up the tire noise and save your frame from mud and sand.

 

Does anyone know why there is a vent on the passenger side front only? The water that gets thrown off the tire is like a fire hose pointed at the back of the foglight housing. The drivers side foglight is dry, the passenger side foglight is getting filled with water! Covering it with duct tape or something would look corny. Seriously, what is the point of this vent?!

 

Air intake is inside the fender well on that side so thats an extra vent to allow the engine to draw in air

 

I've always wondered this too. I used to have a subaru forester that had the same design. Perplexing.

 

OP- I know what you mean about the heavy liners, my Duramax has some that sound like what you're describing as well. For my Duramax it is a factory option to get the liners. They do seem to keep road noise down as you stated, and I too was surprised at how well mud/sand rinses out of them. When I first saw the material I thought they would look like crap as soon as winter hit, but have been pleasantly surprised by the material

Also makes for big HP, imagine how doggy our trucks would be if this wasn't there.

 

Not a fender well replacement, but I just got some of the https://geartechcustoms.com/ fender splash guards and those things are super beefy compared to the stock ones. @cnote4l

 

The splash guards look alright and yes definitely an upgrade but no where near the level of coverage im looking for.

If you guys have a buddy with a newer (15+) Ford or Chevy even, check out their liners compared to ours. It's a shame and yet were supose to be the more dominant off road vehicles.
I'm asking a few companies about it, so far I've gotten three replies saying "Sorry we don't make anything for your vehicle, but we're working on it"... Yeeeeah.

As for the fog lights issue getting wet, just snap that crappy plastic back, pop rivet some rubber or more cheap plastic in behind it and boom, no more wet fog light.seems like an easy fix.

I'll upload a pic or two of my current lack of a liner so you can see what real issues are hahaha (joking of course).

We're actually working on it, R&D right now market drop soon. Our fender liner design will suit Tacomas better than Chevys or Fords because its custom

 

Here's my solution. I cut my fenders, but did not want a snorkel. I left tabs on the cut portion of the fender and attached ABS plastic with self drilling screws. It helped tremendously with road noise and is easy to clean.

So where did you get the ABS sheets from? And cost if you don't mind? is it 1/16?
