I pass a guy on my commute with a Blue TRD Sport on my way home from work... The truck is really sharp in the blue.

My only gripe is the excess number of cup holders. Does anyone really drive with 9 cups or bottles lying around?

I have no real problems with mine.

The U-bolts were loose by three whole turns at about 600mi (I re-checked at 5.5k and they held torque), the left rear door panel was not installed correctly (two smashed clips that squeaked / San Antonio build), and the right A pillar is making noise. All easy fixes. I had needle bearing vibes (no lift) until the moment that I called the dealer about it. Since, it has been smooth. Go figure.

    Things that I really like:
    -- 6MT
-- Semi-automatic headlights (I prefer this setup versus full automatic even)
-- Battery saving interior lights (for some reason our Subaru does not have this feature)
    -- The many storage compartments
-- Steering wheel controls (just enough to function well and not be over cluttered)
-- Excellent approach, breakover, and departure angles (the new Ranger Raptor has the same ones as the non-Pro Tacos with the air dam removed)
-- Dark, quiet, comfortable, and dare I say it, cozy interior
-- Nice, big composite bed with useful accessory rails
-- Good looks, esp considering what the other Toyotas and Lexuses look like these days
-- Excellent fuel range / MPGs for a truck
    -- One touch windows
-- The damped tailgate for the rest of the Fam

Things that should be different from the factory (little or not cost to Toyota):
    -- 2Lo
    -- QD swaybar
    -- No rev hang
-- The bed cubbies should be fully sealed with key locks
-- Crossover pipe location (a big WTF there)
-- The front bed rail should be level with the sides (another big WTF there)
-- Third accessory rail like the 2nd Gens (I installed one)
    -- Amber rear turn signals
-- No chrome on the Sports. I can't speak for the SR5, OR, and Pro.
-- ACLB MT OR in the US

I have the 6MT and the only real issue I had was the stupid low speed stutter/surge. Now that I am tuned, the truck is even better.

Once you get a few miles on it, you will start to see the quirks. Tuning it changed all that.

Okay, I hate the stereo. I test drove a black TRD with JBL. Can’t go with black and keep it as clean as I want with my use. The salesman told me I needed the technology package to get heated seats and the JBL. He had a white one in the showroom. Test drove it with the heated seats on, the sunroof open, stereo off, and bought it. I attempted to adjust the stereo for the next three days. It sounded like mud. Then I noticed something was missing....the orange JBL on the head unit. Well ....!!! Crap, another senior moment. Not the Tacoma’s fault. But I worked with Crutchfields and replaced all of the speakers. Sounds much better.

I wouldn’t have known about Crutchfields and how to replace the speakers if it wasn’t for Tacoma World.

    Liking my Taco more everyday.

Just out of curiosity, what is the benefit of this? On my old Tacoma, I did the locker in 2WD mod. But I never ended up using it other than to test it initially. It seemed simple enough to do, so I just did it. Only after I did the mod, did I consider why I would even need it. I'm trying to think of why I would need to go into 2Lo...

By the way, no problems with my Tacoma.

The 2Lo mod has less to do with traction, just to deal with the high-ish 1st and stupid high reverse gears in the 6MT. Reverse is higher than 1st. 2Lo eliminates a lot of clutch slipping at low speeds.

Thanks for posting OP. Good report here too, my 2017 SR5 has been great, 1,200 miles old.

I can't believe you guys, sucking the hate out of TW!

I love mine too! Makes me smile every time I come out of work to get in and start it up. I have only one small gripe about mine, and that is the Entune will sometimes not recognize my phone to play music through it. Quick jump in the menu, and it is back online. Not often though...not enough to cry about.
6 months in...6000 or so miles and mileage is what I expected, power is there when you want it, looks great, drives great, not a second of regret in my choice over the other trucks I was looking at.

23,000+ miles on my Sport and it's been a pleasure to drive.Had the recalls(rear diff, cam shaft sensor)taken care of and the truck has worked flawlessly. Love the ride quality of the Sport, this thing zips through the twisting Carbon Canyon road like a dream.

45K+ miles on mine. A little over 2 years and loving every minute I'm in it. No complaints, I know I have to take it in to get the high pressure fuel pump looked at cause it chirps but just hate going to the stealership, even though I have extended warranty. I'll get to it some day, the chirp doesn't bother me that much. Anyways don't see myself getting anything else for a long time, at that time I'll get another Tacoma.

Just did the 12 month service, no problems, no diff leaks, etc. No squeaks or rattles. It's been trouble free since new.

Man, you guys don't know how good you have it!

Just a few months ago, a certain unnamed poster would be shitting all over you and your impossible trucks ;)

It IS good to see ppl stoked about their rides for sure. But remember, don't hate on those that say they have issues, because you're not walking in their shoes.

Now go enjoy your Tacos and spend less time on here, no joke lol :)

Your pump isn't failing and nothing will be done about the noise. Save yourself the time and aggravation. Toyota dealerships were actually notified to do nothing to the HPFP due to noise.

    Some alcoholics do.

I kid but honestly, on a long road trip, it's nice to have spots. If my wife and I stop for gas we'll grab a couple of bottles of water or cups of coffee, then when we hit the drive through it's nice to have a place to put the empties.

I bought the sport because of the lack of chrome and because the fender flares were paint matched. The grill on mine is chrome. Is your's not?

Edit: Sorry, forgot, no problems with mine. Yes the shifting was different feeling than what I expected, but I got used to it. I can't say that different means that it is broken.
