Find the color code and then go to Vatozone and find it in a rattle can. Cheapest and easiest option for color match

Awesome thanks, I’ll look into it!

I def planning on attending! Mostly just to learn, and lend a helping hand. I’ve had 3 mustangs in my life and this being my first truck, figure the best crash course is to just dive on in! Who knows if I’ll have mod stuff ready yet, def want to do a new grill with the 70s style Toyota lettering.

Finally got some decent quotes on regearing--- now I gotta decide G2 gears from 4WheelParts with a great warranty or Nitro gears from a local shop with 1 year warranty but doesn't cover 'offroading'. I really can't stand 4WheelParts in general... they are marked up and only sell/push their brands. But I talked a guy into giving me all the best 'discounts' so now the gear install is a regular price as compared to ECGS-- and having the warranty would be good, even if the G2 gears suck and break they will get replaced.

Also--- now I really wanna put an ARB locker in while I do it.

Alignment tech asked me if I was off-roading and if that caused my bad alignment.

    No...never

Hmm, thinking of wrapping the solid panels on my cap black, maybe do the rocker panels too.

You’re doing it yourself for that price!? You getting ecgs gears then or the nitro gears?

Edit: Guess for front and rear locker not too bad.

ECGS gears that’s rear axle already done and front diff already done just have to install, arb compressor and all wiring and lines for the compressor. I called them few weeks back and had a long talk!

Meant to talk about this last night at the meet. But @taco71742 has offered to host a mod day at his place. About 10 minutes from mine so it'd be in the Canton area. Thinking one Saturday next month, any interest let me know. I'll change up the Mod Day thread with new information. He has a lot of room and a full lift in his backyard so just let us know

Thanks for this Chris. I've researched it, Camelback has one here for $190: https://parts.camelbacktoyota.com/p...r=5310004481E0&vehicleid=421014&siteid=214329 It's listed as bronze, so not sure if it's actually pyrite Mica.

I was able to find the color in a rattle can from www.automotivetouchup.com , seems highly reviewed and the can + clear coat + primer would cost about $40.

I plan on cutting out the grill anyway to do the customcargrills mod, so not sure what the best route is...

For the rear bumper, yeah the chrome is pretty ugly. eventually I want the high clearance steel bumper, but for now, plastidip may be the best option. Did you have any issue with the plastidip sticking to the chrome? IF the color match from automotivetouchup works out good on the grille, i may buy a bigger can and just get a body shop to spray it. Another option for rear bumper is a matte black vinyl wrap, not sure how much that would cost though.

Did my bumper covers with Rust-Oleum bedliner. Just sand them first, won't peel off like plasti-dip

I did plasti-dip on mine and it's held up great. Just make sure it's clean then go to town with it. But rattle canning it with Rust-Olem is a better option but be sure to sand it a little like Brad said

I had no problem with the dip sticking to the chrome. That is actually why i tried it instead of color match paint or other options, because I read a ton and it looked like nothing else would stick without proper prep of the chrome, which including scuffing the entire thing. I'd like to sell mine when I get a color matched, so i didn't want to do that.

Honestly it was really easy, and I am really pleased with the look and how it has held up. All i did was wash it and then wipe down with alcohol and let dry. I did remove the license plate, and some other stuff, including the plastic bumper covers on top to make spraying easier and so that when i put them back on no chrome would be showing.

I've taken it through automatic car washes tons of times, and hit it with a pressure washer, still looks like the day i did it. I even backed into a little concrete outcropping in my parking deck at work trying to get too close to the wall and scuffed a hole where the chrome showed through. Literally just pulled off the hanging bit of dip, resprayed 3 coats, 10 min apart, and now i can't even tell where it was.
