    I am finding the same as you, the screw is not budging, applied penetrating oil and going to let it soak for awhile.

    It is almost like there is lock-tite on the screw or something so we will see if the screw loosens.

    It is weird because most folks are saying the screw is super easy to unscrew...

    Ya super weird. For most guys it pops right out. Others are reporting super torqued?? Wonder if it's isolated to mexico or USA assembly plant.

    Mexican sr5 here and the screw came out w/o oil and just a good hard turn with the proper screw driver.

    I finally got it off with help from the maintenance guy at work.
    I sprayed some WD-40 and held the back side of the gas cover.
    This is while he was using an oversized phillips head and a cordless screw driver.

    I will have to by replacement hardware because the screw is shot.
