I stand corrected, rates are in the $380s. Now I just need to remember/figure out what the difference is between the two other than price. Oh, and figure out what's going on with my two pending/current sales.

The only difference is the 18 is missing the garnish.

Hmmm, so buy the 17 and it comes with a garnish compatible with the 18 TSS?

This is what I got on my latest inquiry to an online dealer:

"I have placed the order with Toyota. If Toyota cancels, I will let you know."

So, yeah, pretty much going to be cancelled.

Route 22 just emailed: “Can you please provide a picture of the damage part other wise Toyota will not release the part”

Guess I’m going to ebay or anyone have a picture of a broken Pro grill??

I got that too. I thought of this: Remove your grill, take a pic, and tell them it was stolen.

Yup, that's what the dealership I asked before told me that I needed a picture for the broken grill.

I don't think that's the issue, I think its because Toyota doesn't have much in stock so they only want to sell them to actual Pro owners. My dealership said that once Toyota has enough in stock they will sell to non Pro owners at the regular price of $400+. There is a surplus for the 16-17 and they don't ask for Pro VIN #s on those.

I can ALMOST get on board with selling only to Pro owners. But I'm definitely not on board with differential pricing <edit>if you are buying the same product.</edit>

Yeah, since the price dropped a lot on the 2018's I was trying to get one even though I have a 17.

Differential pricing meaning if you both have '18s but one's a Pro and one's an OR, you get quoted differently. I can accept the 17 vs 18 price difference because they are slightly different.

I was just at my local dealer here in Idaho inquiring about the pricing for the Pro grille and sensor. the parts department knew I wanted it to change out my Sport grille since I my 2018 Sport was on order still through them. He said to talk with my salesman and I could probably get it cheaper than 259.00 if I went though the sales department. He knew it wasn't for a PRO.

Idk, why would they only want to sell them to Pro owners due to stock if Pro owners already have one by default

Well its mostly if their stock one got damaged. Which is why some dealers even ask for pictures of the damaged grill and a photo of the truck in the shop.

It'll be interesting to find out if this site is simply a) a dealer in disguise, b) drop shipping from another dealer, c) selling from original source, d) has a huge inventory contracted from Toyota, or d) will eventually cancel order too.

I ended up just ordering one of the China ones that ship from within the USA, with the eBay discount, $111 is pretty hard to beat...
The 2018 garnishes don’t require a VIN so I ordered one of those at $50 from the dealer.
