Depending on the beer, (Ales roughly 2 weeks, Stouts possibly longer) I let it sit in primary fermentation for however long it takes to hit FG. Once the yeast finishes working its magic I cold crash for a day then transfer to keg.

Think about commercial breweries, we don't "Secondary" our beer. Condition? yes, kinda. But everything is fermented in the original fermenter then transferred to the brite tank unless its a unitank then it can be carbonated in the fermenter after the yeast slurry is dumped. Hope this helps! homebrewtalk.com is also a great resource!

Yeah I just found the homebrewtalk.com site and that's where I read up on the carbonation process. Total new question but what does FG stand for?!

In the Riverside/LA area for a few days. Any breweries that we have to visit? We went to Bottle Logic last night and really enjoyed it. I hear good things from modern times too. We typically like spurs, reds, and stouts/porters. Not big IPA fans.

Where exactly are you staying? That will help point you in the right direction? Any kids or just adults?

Agreed on all of these, weather is a bit cold now, but Golden Road has a great outdoor space to chill. It is right next to Angels stadium.

Deep in to Riverside is Wicks, they have some good beers.

Staying in riverside, but we are going into LA today to do all the typical touristy stuff. No kids. Just the wife and I. We are on a two month road trip across the country. Currently a little over 3 weeks in. Started in Orlando.

She had “we want juice” which is a boysenberry sour. I tried all 4 of the stouts. Coconight was by far my favorite. Reminded me of Last Snow by Funky Buddha back home. We are getting 2 cans of the sour and 2 cans of the coconight to go.

I will need to post an updated list sometime. But we have a pretty big list of breweries we have visited on our travels. We are heading up the coast now all the way to Seattle. So the list will continue to grow.
