It all depends on the application. I see you have a 2nd gen(halogen reflector bucket) so yes, a retrofit will need to be bolted to the original bulb base and locked down. I was thinking of our trucks (3rd gen) which already has internal brackets for the stock projectors, so changing/upgrading is simple as swapping out brackets.

Ahh I see. If it was like that, I’d consider trying it myself. I’ve decided it’s way too involved for my truck, I’ll pay someone who knows what they’re doing.

If you were willing to do the FXRs, I’d probably be handing you my credit card.

I had them in my OEM HID housing on one of my f150s. They were incredible.

I just picked up some tsx projectors w/ ballasts and ignitors for $40 at the junkyard. With a bit of spacing in between the lens it makes a nice blue cutoff.

Anyone mind sharing opinions on the DRL bowl? I want to black out entire housings, but thinking of leaving that chrome. It’s covered so it doesn’t really stand out when left chrome, and I’ll be running that OEM orange DRL bulb. So, leave it chrome or paint black?

Thanks. I am going to stay chrome, don’t want to lose all function since they will still be my blinkers.
