Funny you mention that. There's an abandoned Mercedes Benz SL500 AMG parked about a block away last registered in 2010. There's moss growing on it but the HOA doesn't care.

A house on my street on the other hand has a ratty old pathfinder parked in it. The HOA tried to "tow" it away so many times but couldn't since it was on someone's property.

I offered to buy the Merc but of course the woman didn't want to sell it. Lol.

My HOA is threatening to put a Lien on our house because we left our garbage bins out. I wish I was kidding.

They also got me for leaving my engine hoist outside while I was doing my 4WD swap and the basketball hoop that stood in the same spot for 10 years.

Yep, I originally thought that once you break and axle you could just unlock it and carry on your way and deal with it later. Not the case when I blew one. It broke the cast knob to unlock it, the snap ring that retains the axle was fubar, the needle bearing that the shaft sits in was fubar, the outer brash bushing that you cannot buy separately was egged out. So I was still left there on the side of the trail swapping a CV and trying to figure out what little bits of metal were salvageable and what there job was. If I recall correctly I was still able to slide the locking collar in so I had the axle locked and was able to get off the trail. A simple axle swap would have been much easier than dealing with the grenaded hub that I wasn't super familiar with.

Meh, I just put a 12" pry bar in that spot and give it a good kick. It usually goes flying but it pops the axle out and I don't need to remove my skid.

The house next to me is a second home and when they are here they always have something to complain about. They seem to think it's a HOA around here. Thank goodness it's not! Idk how you do it.

It boggles my mind that people have nothing better to do but complain about how someone else lives there life.

They do the same here but we always send back their letters
I'm very familiar with the manual hubs and taking them apart, and I travel with spares too.

Also HOAs are cancer but I rent a long since paid for home that the owner hasn't visited in years. Turns out HOAs don't really have much power and don't like to track down people that haven't even visited the home they own :/

I cannot win with my truck lately, I guessing my brake calipers seized on the drivers side... the pads on one side are totally done while the other side is brand new. Never felt like it pulled to one side, frustrating.....

I love HOA mainly cause I piss them off. Me and my brother rented a house together. Took our trucks apart for some repairs (can't remember exactly what) but as they argued to me about the trucks. My brother yelled "hey dust bags, if you want this cleaned up shut up and get the fuck going so we can finish!" And 4-5 months later we were forced to leave. :) But now I can have 40 Tacomas in my yard and no body would care.

Boy when I have the money I'm going to buy one of those slow pieces of shit. They're just really cool vehicles.

The older i've gotten the more I've come to understand HOA's. There are certain people that I would not want live next door to like my coworker. A single car garage and single car drive way are filled with a camper and a boat while he parks all his personal vehicles in the street. His place looks like a storage lot.

I don't think I'll ever live in an HOA, but I sure the hell don't want to live next to people whose lifestyle spills out into the street.

I should probably stop buying Tacomas then...

But I totally agree with you. If you don't move a vehicle on the street every 72 hours the city PD comes out and puts chalk on the tires and puts a warning sticker on your window warning that they're going to tow the car if it doesn't move. Just makes the streets a lot cleaner and it's easier to drive.

I only wish that my HOA wasn't too damn anal about little things like leaving your trash bins outside for a day. Jeez.

His mistake was buying a place with a single wide garage and single wide driveway, that's just too damn small for work. If I could find anyone else that thought the same I'd just have a huge shop style building with a loft to live in.

    Hi Mike,

I just use the 75W-90 Valvoline they sell in Oriellys and Autozone. Good stuff that doesn't cost a whole lot and it is just regular dino. Don't really need to spend the xtra cash for synth in a diff.

    Looks like this...

Also I think rear diff is like 3.3 quarts, front is like .9 or something, and transfer case is like 1.1. All in the back of your owners manual if you still have it

Lol my HOA is run by a third party company and they wrote me up for changing my oil and diff fluids in the street. Thankfully one of the board memebers spoke up for me and told them to shove it up their ass. I have since then changed an intake manifold on an F150 and pulled the bed off an F150 in the street :D The HOA and my household don’t get along very well. I think we now have a separate file of complaints stashed away in a filing cabinet. So many complaints yet we have the nicest house in the neighborhood lol
